Coutts

Didn't miss him at all in the first half imo. Ipswich were quite sluggish and weren't allowed much of the ball aside from a few counter attacks. After Freeman's injury we had to reshuffle and it clearly caused a few organisational problems, the opposition turned up the tempo, and ball retention wasn't as good as it sometimes is. Overall, however, we were our usual selves. Controlled large parts of the game, a bit hesitant to shoot but always looking one pass short of a tap in, worked incredibly hard, and fully deserved the win.

Same old, same old.

he did fine, But coutts picks the ball up from defense and dictates our play. Lundstram did not! But he did put a shift in.

Lundstram worked hard, did ok.
But he gave the ball away more times in this game than Coutts has all season. Not got the quality, doesn’t carry the ball the same and doesn’t have the same time on the ball as his movement isn’t as good.

I’m well chuffed with the result and how we played, but Coutts back in for me.

It’s excellent that Lundstram is now an integral part of our CM, either from the start, or to come off bench.

But displacing one of Fleck or Coutts, for my money the best CM pair in the division, won’t be easy.

UYB

Would be one of the best in the division above too in my opinion.

to answer the OP question.

We played differently today - quite different in fact.

A fair result should have been 3-1 - it was 1 nil but 3 points is 3 points. Lundtram was a bit of a holding player and did everything asked of him.

Coutts back next game? Without a doubt for me - it's a no brainer.

Enjoyed the game, BUT we NEED to score more goals when we are on top. That game should have been dead and buried by HT.

We move on...................and UPWARDS :)

UTB & mind the even BIGGER gap.

Lundstram had decent game, but it showed Coutts was missing after we took the lead. We and Lundstram himself gave away the ball when they had better options.

Yes we missed Coutts, he’s very probably been our best player this season and one of the best players in this league going on what Ive seen so far.

UTB!

For me our best player.

Props to Fleck today too, as not only did he have to cope with playing without his soul mate and the added responsibility, but Big Micks tactics were blatantly to kick Fleck up in the air at every opportunity like a 1980's hackysack!

Carter-Vickers was excellent too. He entirely justified his selection, ahead of fans’ favourite Jake Wright.

The lad is strong as on ox, quick and incredibly self-assured for a youngster. Gerrimin.
