Absolutely outstanding today. I was skeptical if they’d make the step up from League 1 but they certainly have. It was great to see Duffy sprinting the whole length of the pitch to get back and defend in the 2nd half. That for me typifies the level of commitment of our players.

Special mention to Lundstram too, he’s turning into a really good player for us. Hope his doubters all feel a bit silly now for writing him off after 2-3 games.

Duffy was superb. Barely gave the ball away at all and continuously dealt with it in difficult situations and played his way out of them with ease.

He looks very comfortable at this level in his central position. He's great to watch when he plays like that.

He's the definition of 'proper footballer' in my view. Mind you, we have quite a few of those.

Very good individual performances all round. Defensive organisation was a bit shaky at times in the second half, probably caused by us having to reshuffle again after Freeman's injury mixed with Ipswich presumably getting a kick up the arse from the manager.

We were a joy to watch again. The work rate of the side is phenomenal. 86th minute and the opposition look like they've broken through, and our attacking midfielder turns up as a sweeper having made the sprint to get back and cover. Our right back gets stretchered off, we have to move a centre back out there, and who turns up making a late run into the box to nod in the winner?

It's total football.

Quite right, I said that mesen. Couldn't believe it when Bash's name came up. I'll have to go on Twatter more in the future!

I said the same. Not detracting from Bashams performance at all but as far as I'm concerned, Duffy was outstanding and commanded the game from start to finish.

Burton. But agree with your sentiments.
They may have offered him an extension. not sure?

I have to agree with all the comments I have just read thought it was very close for man of the match between Duffy and bash but for me Duffy just about nipped it. I thought he was excellent today he totally ran the show for us in the middle of the park and has really shown us what he can do time after time this season, I think the added pressure of brooks pushing him as well is also helping what a position we are in for them 2 to be fighting it out for the place at the minute. Bash was excellent also and was a nice little run to get him self in front of the defender for the goal. really hard to pick a man of the match between them both but as mentioned I had to just favour Duffy. I also though Clarke had another excellent game and ran his socks off and pressured there defenders all match just couldn't quite get the goal. I don't think Clarke was far behind them 2 for me and wish the shoot had just dipped another inch or 2 when he hit the cross bar because it had beat there keeper and he was just rooted to the spot. another good performance from them all again today at home and on to next week, can't wait already

Do we have to choose! The most satifying thing is that we have such gifted players who will even go and play in the sand pit if CW tells then to.
The debates are almost petty but that is the wonderful thing we have at the moment.

I don't generally join in with marking players each match but I really can't let today go without saying Duffy was 10/10.
Absolutely outstanding and unplayable at times.
Having watched Utd since '72 I was too young to appreciate the quality of football but since that part of following Utd switched on this is far and away the best footballing team I have ever seen us have.
We deserve this.
Enjoy it.
I am.

I thought basham was outstanding today and deserved his goal. Duffy just edged him today for his sprint of the full length of the pitch to clear that loose ball!!. It's just wonderful also watching brooks. He's got so much talent for a young lad!. Everyone gave their all today as always. Felt really sorry for freeman though as it looked a nasty knee injury?. Credit to mcgoldrick who knew that it was serious and didn't walk away until he was on the stretcher. They are friends from their forest days. Utb in wilder we trust.

Either could have been man of the match, but Basham scoring as well as playing in seamlessly in different positions (yet again) is a fair call.

He's the most honest footballer it's possible to imagine.

Surprised how many questioned Bashams ability to make the step up (suspect it has something to do with him being a mainstay in some less than stellar sides for us)

But from the turn of the year he's got to have been up there in our top 2/3 performers easily. Coutts has maybe surpassed him this season but from January onwards he was the best player in league 1 imo.

Wilder was glowing in his praise for him in the post match interviews too.

As for duffy - i'll never know how he's not been a mainstay at championship level.

Really impressed today. Bash and Duff were excellent. Clarke keeps proving me wrong and Stevens looks a great signing. Carruthers can't even get on the pitch and he looked like a game breaker last year. Still think we look like we could concede a few but I'm happy that seems to be because we are determined to score. Loving it at the moment

The sausage rolls were magnificent too!
