Stick someone in the boot. The are no solutions that don't involve people who are currently entitled to tickets being no longer entitled. If my car is full, I can't get anyone else in unless someone gets out.

I said 'full'. That includes the boot. And the roof rack. Well, it would if I had one.Stick someone in the boot.
The example is poor. A car can’t be amended for additional capacity. The system can be changed, as other clubs do.I said 'full'. That includes the boot. And the roof rack. Well, it would if I had one.
I resent that last paragraph. I thought I'd made it clear that I lose out under the current system. The example is poor. A car can’t be amended for additional capacity. The system can be changed, as other clubs do.
For the record I have a lot of points myself so this isn’t an issue for me. I appear to be in a minority who doesn’t just think about myself though.
A good proposition Linz for the younger fans. This would be one of the fairest ways of approaching a change. But you’re right, it’d need to work alongside a clampdown of people buying the wrong tickets. To all those proposing a rolling system... Or even just awarding points for home matches... what is your workable solution to the fact that you could have ten thousand people all with the same loyalty points?
EDIT: If we're thinking of the kiddiwinks, why don't we go down the route of treating U16 tickets as "add-ons"?
So... Tickets go on sale at 60000 LPs for adult tickets - 10000 for U16s add-on.
Someone with 60k points could buy an adult ticket with his points on the first day of sale.
Or.. he could wait until it's 50000 LPs to use his 60k points to buy an adult and an U16.
Or... Wait until 40k to buy 1 adult and two U16s.
The upgrading of U16 tickets would have to be policed/banned but it deals with the children issue.
I'm sorry but I've no suggestions for the " I want to go to Wednesday but can't" problem.
In terms of any resetting and having large numbers on the same points for the first couple of years, I don’t think it would be a big issue, particularly. When the system was introduced for the Premier League season and therefore a similar situation being present, I can’t recall any issues, although I may be wrong.
I wonder if an away season ticket scheme is worthy of consideration. Not sure.

Does anyone else think it makes a difference that SUFC 'Head of Ticketing' is a big Wednesday fan? m.facebook.com/carrie.sampson.524 Not sure if this is a possitive, negative or makes no difference!

Knowing Carrie, I don't think it makes a difference no, certainly not a negative
So when it was introduced there wasn't any issues, as neither the Spurs nor Fulham game sold out. I remember plenty of empty seats at both these games, so there was no clamour of tickets, even when they went on general sale. However, I don't think that would be the case now, in fairness. But points were also awarded for having a 2005/06 season ticket so there was already that step-up for those going anyway vs those who were just wanting tickets because we were in the Premiership.
And for the first away tickets (Spurs and Fulham), you required a ticket stub from Luton the season before for priority and there was a postal application scenario (just looking at threads from the time).
The attendance at Luton was ~1700 Blades and the remaining 1300 allocation was allocated to ST holders, then members, then Superdraw etc.
However, Spurs was a Tuesday game so 1400 tickets ended up going on general sale: https://s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/spurs-tickets.4080/
Then pay on the day: https://s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/spurs-tickets-still-available.4123/
Which suggests that when push came to shove, our first away match in the Premiership wasn't that much of a draw for people.
I can't see whether we sold out Fulham or not.
It wasn't a case of Premiership = everyone on zero points. There was "priority" built-in right from the off.
EDIT: Then for Arsenal, those who had been to Spurs and/or Fulham got priority: https://s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/arsenal-tickets.4230/
The people that go to home games are the most valuable to United as away games, cup ties excepted, don't generate any income for the club so surely it's right to look after biggest income generators.Or minimal points for home league games. I'm certainly not advocating stopping those who go constantly or on a regular basis but just think it's time the younger generation and those who have watched the last few years of crap are given at least a fair crack of the whip

Being a student living away for several years I've not had the opportunity to get a season ticket up until recently. I now find myself struggling to get away tickets due to my low loyalty points.
How am I supposed to build up my loyalty points if they sell out before I even get the chance to grab 1?
So who should get priority ? Someone in your position or someone who has regularly been away with the Blades and got a season ticket ?Being a student living away for several years I've not had the opportunity to get a season ticket up until recently. I'm not saying I should get priority over someone with more loyalty points as they've built them up and fully deserve them.So who should get priority ? Someone in your position or someone who has regularly been away with the Blades and got a season ticket ?
All very good and dare I say suits certain people but what about those who let's say are now 17/18 and let's say have been regulars since the age of 9 or 10 yet trail with points and stand little chance of catching up? Or those who don't already have parents that go to games? Hardly fair on them is it? Just a thought, though like we all agree, there isn't a solution that suits everyone but it's obvious this would have come up sooner or laterTo all those proposing a rolling system... Why is it 'not fair'? Unfortunate, yes absolutely, unfair, no.All very good and dare I say suits certain people but what about those who let's say are now 17/18 and let's say have been regulars since the age of 9 or 10 yet trail with points and stand little chance of catching up? So you think it's fair that a 16 year old gets a leg up because his parents are supporters over someone who's parents aren't?Why is it 'not fair'? Unfortunate, yes absolutely, unfair, no.
Sorry I didn't realise you were commenting on Linz's point about kids specifically. No, of course it's not fair and I don't agree with that at all.So you think it's fair that a 16 year old gets a leg up because his parents are supporters over someone who's parents aren't?
