Alan Woodward, had everything including hardest shot, best crosser of a football, and best corner taker .... maybe 0.01 % off for his heading.

If he and TC had been Brazillian they`d have had nigh on 100 caps each and immortality in world football instead of the better parts of Sheffield

and he were a good bloke an` all.

WOODYYYYYYYYYYYYYY !!!!!! A proper footballer my first hero , a real man , should have played for England but he played for Sheffield United so no chance , my only real regret was not meeting him when he returned to the lane for a tribute to him that day , passed away now , gone BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN , RIP Alan .

Dane Whitehouse for all of the reasons already mentioned .

I loved it when Brads , Dane and Mitch Ward all played for us , Blades through and through and good footballers too . All three of em still go to the matches now aswell and all 3 of em still like a beer or two . Proper Blades .

A bit left field this suggestion. We all know TC was the best by a mile, but seeing as we're talking about favourites, what about Billy Dearden? He used to run around till he dropped and got the nickname "Billy Three Lungs". He was also as brave as fuck and used to stick his head into situations that warranted a public health warning.

I'd give Morgan the runner up spot for similar reasons. These are the types of players that leave an imprint on your memories of going to the Lane.

growing up - Keith Edwards - 1st player i really remember
without wanting to repeat, and i thought Borbokis was going to be my wild card but someone beat me to it... So in no order, but a bit left field......
ooohh aaaahhh
Stuart macall
brownie
Wayne quinn
tony philiskirk
bobby Davison
Mel rees
jock Bryson
Vinnie Jones - at the time i was a young impressionable teenager who thought "he's a proper man", and loved his style, especially the 3second tackle on peter Reid. I now think he's a bit of a twat, but like that fat bird round the back of Josies - it happened, i cant rewrite my thought process, however embarrassing it is now.

Whitehouse for me.

One or 2 of the current crop are rapidly moving up the charts as well.

As a kid I wanted to be Keith Edwards. But all time has to be Deano. Just. It's like being asked to choose your favourite kid so I have to mention some of the others too: Morris, Hodges, Whitehouse, Jags, Morgan, Stan, Kenworthy. I suspect I'll be adding a few of the current players in time.

Whilst I've had the pleasure of seeing TC, Woody and others of that great era, the one player that left a lasting impression on me was a short, slight, unassuming man who helped Edwards to get many of his lower league goals and that player was Colin Morris

The other player I shall not forget was a very young man who had his career ruined by a certain Rodney Marsh and that was Tom McAllister. What a great keeper he was at such a tender age

Carl Bradshaw - grafter, fully committed and hard. But also had a bit of talent as well.

Glynn Hodges - touch of class, player you knew would perform in big game/ moments. He had that edge where he could Change the games in a flash... could be a goal or a red card! Not without his downsides, lazy at times, but I loved watching him on the ball.

These two, for these reasons.

And I'll add Alan Kelly.

And Mel Rees, because I was so impressed by his few games for us, and will always hold him in affection because of the tragedy.

If we're doing lists...

Tony Kenworthy - Bladeheart
Keith Edwards - Best finisher I've ever seen in a Blades shirt
Glenn Cockerill - Energy
Brian Deane - Best outfield player since days of Currie
Alan Kelly - Best keeper IESIABS
Dane Whitehouse - One club man, pig slayer, loyalty
David Holdsworth - Quality CB
Billy Sharp - Talismanic
Jack O'Connell - Cult hero.
John Fleck - The Holy Trinity 1
Paul Coutts - The Holy Trinity 2
Mark Duffy - The Holy Trinity 3 and THAT GOAL!

And from an oldie - Alan Hodgkinson. Played week in, week out for years, incredibly brave, very agile, made few mistakes. Capped for England, and a really nice local lad. Always had time for the fans, including inviting kids onto the pitch during pre-match warm-ups. Got a great reception at many away grounds. And if he hadn't broken his thumb, we would have won the league.:(

Can only remember back to the early 2000's. For me it's Chris Morgan for leaving everything on the pitch and giving everything for the club.
Also Michael brown, Billy sharp and Steve kabba get a honourable mention

Yes, Billy Three Lungs clearly falls into the Unsung Heroes category, but I know where you're coming from and another from that era for me would be John Flynn.

While Eddie Colquhoun was doing all the Gung Ho stuff, he would be there quietly going about his job and tieing up any loose ends.

The nearest we've had to him since, imo, is Jake Wright.

Billy Dearden followed by Len Badger. Just loved watching Len very rarely had a off game. Billy was lightweight but he gave a lot of centre half’s a hard time. In one particular night game against Leeds he rose head and shoulders above Jackie Charlton and hit the bar with a thunderous header in the first few minutes. We won 3 0 that night.

With apologies to the awesome TC and Woody, it's Billy Dearden for me. Why? Goalscoring centre forward in my formative years and I got to interview him for a national football magazine aged 11 (me, not him!!!)

Oh, and Dean Hammond for his unseen work in midfield of course.

Flack might yet outshine them all. Restored the faith in footy of an old cynic like me.

In no particular order:

Borbokis
Jags
Brown
Pesch
Ndlovu
Sharp
Coutts
Fleck
Freeman
JOC
Basham
Wright
Stevens
Donaldson
Brooks
Duffy
Clarke
Lafferty
Baldock
Moore
Blackman
CCV
Evans
Lavary
Lundstram
Carruthers
Wilder
What's Stearman done wrong?!

Definitely Glyn Hodges. Skilful, silky, genius and a complete lad. Anyone who scores a last minute winner then decks it arse over tit in front of the kop and gets up pissing himself laughing deserves credit.

Bonus points for the 'up yours' celebration after scoring in the cup v Man Utd in a live televised match, and for telling his future missus he was a plumber for their first few dates as he didn't want hangers on. Legend

Brook could be up there come end of the season
Dane was quality.

Richard Cresswell. Had to overcome the fact he came from the dark side and did an awful lot of donkey work for Ched Evans.

The one outstanding memory is the goal against Plymouth Argyle where he waited behind the goalkeeper and as he rolled it out, Cresswell came from behind (ooh er missus) took it off the goalie and rolled it into an empty net. Waited all my life to see a goal like that.

Glyn hodges always the most gifted player on the park. Closely followed by vas borbokis took the best free kicks and crossed the ball better than anyone I've seen in a blades shirt
