Perhaps speculation on my part, but I can imagine they must be loving being at our club right now.

Coming from playing mostly youth team matches to regular first team football in a successful side with huge team spirit and no little talent, in front of a stadium packed with 25k+ passionate fans every week. This is the real, beating heart of being a pro footballer.

Sure, they could pick up a large wage to sit on the bench for their respective clubs, but instead they've come to develop and play proper competitive games. It must be a massive buzz.

As to their performances, Blackman has looked assured and confident in goal. Still plenty to learn but for someone so young to keep out our previously no.1 gk is impressive.

CCV we've seen less of. I think he's guilty of still perhaps being a little naive, you could say he was unlucky with the penalty and the slip vs. Wednesday but there is the occasional mistake there.
On the flip side he does also seem very effective- shutting down Bolton and Wolves forwards all game, scoring vs the former, and his superb through ball to Clarke last night which ultimately changed the game in our favour. Looks like he is good at more than just defending, which is most welcome

While Wolves missed the penalty last night I think Blackman can take some credit. I was on the kop but when I looked at him between the posts he looked fucking HUGE! The penalty taker must have been thinking "where the fuck do I put this?" As a result, he went for the far edge of the goal........

And missed it by about 9 inches!

Last night, the Trig party talked about the similarity with EEL, just after his first half lapse when under pressure and their striker shoot straight at Blackman. As you say, he just looks as though he is prone to the occasional lapse and why shouldn't he be at his age? If he leaves as fondly remembered as EEL, he'll have done OK.

CCV has a great opportunity for learning as part of this squad, especially how to defend as part of a group. Early on against Wolves he made a mistake which left a Wolves player with a clear run on goal. Jake Wright had anticipated a possible problem, and managed to get enough of a challenge in for the effort to be a fairly tame one straight at Jamal. There were no recriminations, but Wright gave CCV a quick look to say 'Job done, try to keep it tight'. Unless I misread the body language, there was no bollocking, just the assumption which runs right through the squad that if one player makes a mistake, others will help them out. And what about the moment in the second half, when we lost the ball in attack, and 4 players immediately surrounded the Wolves player to win it back? Awesome. What a learning environment.

The other interesting thing for me in this is the clubs they're coming from.

Spurs have a track record of bringing through young players under pochettino, or at least giving inexperienced young players a chance, whereas Chelsea are mostly filled with established foreign superstars.

The goalkeeping position must be especially difficult to break through because of its special significance to the team, so it will be interesting to follow Blackmans career path.

Looks very raw and prone to mistakes. Wilder is giving him every chance though and may well see loads of upside from him as he gets more game time. As you say he does good things and what is certain is his commitment to a challenge and opposition players don't seem to go back for more!!

we have already made them money for these two players raising there profile in games like Sunday, Imagine what they will be worth when they go back, CCV as a chance to be in the Spurs team as they promote youth, but Chelsea will probably be glad we are making something of Blackman as it could be a nice sale in the future, and might very well end up being to us!

That's what i've been thinking as well. Can you see Blackman getting the no.1 Jersey for Chelsea? Not to say he's not good enough.. or that he is either. It's early days so who knows.
The problem is not his talent, which he obviously has, it's that Chelsea don't seem to work that way.

They have a huge amount of young players out on loan who they then sell onto after getting extra value on them. If Blackman continues to progress we may well be the ones to benefit long term.

We're the ideal club for them to loan players to. We have the same work ethic and team spirit, the same style of play. And we play in real pressure games. You can't buy the experience CCV got from playing in the derby.

I think both Spurs and Chelsea will be delighted with the loans.

Made a comment on a Brookes thread but also relevant on here.
Given we have Chelski & Spurs in the house with these two - and with the talented Mr Brookes on our books - I wonder what they're reporting back to their clubs. I don't want Brookes to go anywhere but it's sort of inevitable that we'll start to see what the market has to offer in January. I can see Brookes in a Spurs side and wouldn't be the first time we've done business with them & loaned them back.

These are exactly the sort of players we should be looking for on loan.

Firstly wilder will treat them well and develop them. We play a similar system to both spurs and Chelsea so we should be towards the front of the queue to get them.

But the prime thing is we will be in their thoughts if they look to leave in the future. However good they are Chelsea’s can go out and spend 30m on a a world class keeper and Blackman doesn’t get a look in / spurs have spent 50m plus on new centre backs - which means unless they progress at an astonishing (alli like) rate they will struggle to get games and may look to move.

We should be in a position to take advantage of they are, they will know the club and set up.
