Probably get a lot of abuse for this but I thought that we were poor 2nd half yesterday. Excellent first half though and deserved the win. I thought that we gave the ball away a lot and played a lot of aimless balls up to the strikers.
I'll put this down to 1. Effects of Sunday 2. Took our foot off the pedal in 2nd half. 3. Wolves showed a bit more fight in 2nd half though didn't create anything.

theres always edited highlight, so we can put out shorter videos at the end of the season
if we were brilliant 90 minutes every game wed have to buy a 23 disc boxed set

I don't think we were poor, we dropped the intensity after the 2nd goal, but preserved the lead. Hence Wilder bringing Duffy and Ched on to freshen things a bit

All things are relative. I thought the first half performance was better than at Hillsbough, but agree we tailed off in the second.

It was only 'poor' in realtion to the first half and Sunday. We still scored a goal against a top team and kept them out of the game.

Please do not go overboard with this kind of nonsense.

Wolves deffo came back into it 2nd half but that was down to all the points you raised. I wouldn't say UTD were poor though, just not 100% at it, like the previous 135+ mins of football.

Not going overboard but just an opinion that our ball retention was poor, especially against 10 players. Our strikers received very little to work with.
First half was a perfect example of how to play 11 vs 10

as others have said we can't be full pelt every game and in a game where after 2-0 , the game was pretty much won we did ease off a little ( although i still remember ched, Baldock and several others running frantically for a challenge / winning the ball towards the end )

The attitude and proffessionalism of this team is outstanding
Who knows where we will finish but i truly believe we are, will and should enjoy this season allot!

for me Coutts is just a joy to watch , as the song goes , he never gives the ball away and is in the central figure in every move and is just class .

if i was a opposing manager i would man mark Coutts and try and take him out the game , hvaing said that if you did that you would still be left with the other 10 to worry about !!

To be fair to the OP he's not renowned for being negative or a wum so we should take it seriously. I think all teams will come out guns blazing second half if they're one down and we will have to be patient when this happens and wait until they blow themselves out. Which is pretty much what happened. Once we got the second I felt we managed the game brilliantly in the way Norwich did to us (minus histrionics) to see out a comfortable 2-0 win.

Last season we were shitting it hanging on against a 10 man Shrewsbury , now we're running the clock down against Portugal B.

In the same way that we make teams look poor, I thought Wolves stepped up in the first 20 minutes of the second half. They closed us down high up the pitch and forced the defence to go long before picking up the loose balls. They moved the ball about well in the middle but really lacked any form of cutting edge - the only time they got through was the penalty (never a foul, btw) but after Neves hit the post the fight seemed to disappear out of them.

Wolves are a decent team with some good players. It's just that we're better.

Last season we were shitting it hanging on against a 10 man Shrewsbury , now we're running the clock down against Portugal B.

9 man Shrewsbury...then fighting relegation but currently unbeaten and 4 points clear at the top of League One. Funny old game.

They're a good side and as such there's always going to be a period in a game where they look better than us.

Get used to it, it's going to happen in a lot of games this season and what's more, we'll even lose some of them.

What won't change is that we'll keep putting the effort in and more often than not we will be good enough to come out on top after 90 minutes, which is all that matters.

I agree with that. It seemed to become a bit scrappy after the 2nd goal – some sloppiness set in with our passing, we were more often going for an easy option to lump it forward under pressure, and there were some needless bookings that we picked up. Wilder pretty much said as much on the passing not being up to our usual standards at times yesterday. But regardless, it was an excellent win.
