I've always liked wolves.

One of the first matches I ever went to was wolves v spurs semi final at the Sty.

The old pig kop without it's roof was a sea of black and gold.

Spurs fans suffered from overcrowding on leppings lane and had to sit on the side of the pitch.

There was an unjust penalty decision that sent it to a replay I think.

Spurs won the cup against man city.

Wolves are a proper club, with real history, they filled their end on a wet w&?ds night. Their comments seem pretty spot on.

As one of them pointed out, it was a shame not to see the full 11 v 11 contest play out.

If I have one slight nagging feeling about the game it's probably this. I was really looking forward to seeing us line up against one of the potential heavyweights of the division. Coady makes a daft decision so early in the game. If it's the 89th minute then you take Clarke out every time, near the beginning of the game possibly going a goal down is not as bad as losing a man.

Still, worth pointing out that the red card wasn't a bit of petulance or violent conduct, it was the result of our movement and a great through ball to cut them open and force the error. It was another very good game to watch from the Blades and matched with a fully deserved win.

Fair play. Defeat is always hard to take, no matter who it's against, but their supporters have shown a lot of class and taken it on the chin. I wish them well. Some of our neighbours could learn a thing or two from them.
Perhaps someone should post all these comments on porktalkto show them how a team with class supporters act when their team has been beaten !

Can't fault them, very complimentary.

Absolute tune as well!

Fair do's to em....still not keen on em being surrounded by them on a daily basis down this neck of the woods mind..

P.S. great song choice (although the early Heavenly version is better!!) :)

I’ve a bit of a soft spot for Wolves as well. Went to Molineux for an FA Cup game when I was nine and the turnstyle operator let me duck under for nowt. “Keep yer money lad” -saved me six shillings.
Crap game mind, we lost three nil. Can still see the ball hitting a post then rebounding onto a diving Hodgy’s back and going in.

Our work off the ball was top drawer, hence why they didn't get going. First 5 mins we didn't have a kick but when we settled we played well. Sending off and another superstar who shit himself at a penalty helped a lot.

It's a strange recurring theme isn't it:
Every team we beat it seems to be because they played crap, nothing to do with us playing very well!!!???
But generally a balanced view :D

Top stuff as always Roy. Looking forward to the scabs views. They will be as balanced as the uncleans

Classy bunch the Wolves lot, said before, they know their football and like to see good football. We dominated the game with 11 v 11, thought we dipped a bit when they went to 10, but as I said in the shoutbox, we needed a goal and the timing was right as i think they would've gone for a draw if they'd held on.

Getting the goal opened the game up again and i thought second half we dominated the play, in and out of possession. They didn't worry us too much. Penalty was daft, picked up some silly bookings (especially Baldock and his little tantrum when he didn't get a freekick, just get on with it yer fanny)

Complete performance for me.

Of all the Wolves comments, this was a little against the flow (though there were other digs at Clarke)

Fat bastard Leon cant run but can score from 6 yards or from headers and what do we let him do tonight?”

He can't run, but that's exactly what he was doing as he skipped away from Coady only to be pulled back. Thoroughly professional performance from Leon and the Blades

In the 1960's we were playing Wolves and the fans were singing 'Who's afraid of the big bad Wolves" from the Disney Three Little Pigs. We got an indirect free kick six yards out from their goal and their entire team positioned themselves on the goal line. Needless to say we managed to score. A team that had a great history especially when captained by Billy Wright. Good to see fans who make sensible positive comments.

I started to take a disliking to Wolves in recent years as [imo] they had started to display S6 levels of arrogance at times, upon reading that however fair play, most of them saw the game exactly as I did.

“Wolves played 80 minutes with 10 men away to one of the better teams in the division. The way I’m seeing this is it could have been a lot worse.”

Starting to get a bit of recognition.

Cheers Roygbiv

Went to the same game and the turnstile operator said exactly the same thing to me - then just as I ducked he put his foot on the lever at his side and swung the turnstile into my head, almost fracturing my skull. I've always had a soft spot since then.

First time that I have read a set of comments where all of the opposition supporters thought that a penalty awarded to them was soft.

Mind you, it wasn't just soft it was fucking runny. I reckon the ref was unsure about the handball appeal 1 second before and that made his mind up.

Jam was close to touching it as well, reckon he may have stopped it if it had been going in. There are a fair few pen saves on his summary vid.
