"Wilder gets the best out of such average players, look at his side for Christ sake. Edna Stevens, Baldock, O'Connell, Basham, Coutts, Fleck, Clarke, Duffy, not being funny because ive given them all the praise in the world about sunday but they are nothing players, especially for the championship."

What fucking evidence do they need?!

THEY ARE CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYERS AND CURRENTLY 4th having only been outplayed for an hour vs Middlesboro.

In fact, now the fitness levels are up, we've practically dominated the opposition in our last 6 matches!

Couldn't agree more Scooter.....trouble is they seem incapable of humility, something that I've always associated with wisdom, which they clearly lack.

To call any of the players who dominated them on Sunday - ordinary or average - reveals such a heavy prejudice that it wouldn't matter what they said. In fact, who cares what they think? It's not as if they matter, does it? They are the lesser team in Sheffield. If any of the fools reads this they'll still not realise what's going on with the balance of football power in this city. In truth, we have bigger fish to fry than the Hermaphrodites on the outskirts of Sheffield. Along the way we'll suffer failure, but we'll learn, we'll get stronger, something that's been happening ever since Wilder took control. The squad we have now is so much stronger and better than the one we had this time last year. Imagine what our squad will look like next season!

Leadership is the key, such a pity then that their's is pitiful and clueless, both on and off the pitch! UTMB

This.

Even more so when you consider the sum being greater than that of the individual parts. The exact opposite of what they have !!

I suggest we keep quiet. Be our little secret ;):)

Let's cast our minds back to July, before a ball was kicked

Middlesboro are favourites for the title, we've played them away

Cardiff were strongly fancied for the play offs, we've played them away

Sunderland strongly fancied for automatic promotion, or play offs at least, we've played them away

Derby County, strongly fancied for play offs, we've played them at home

Norwich, strongly fancied for play offs, we've played them at home

Sheffield Wendy ha ha ha, fancied by themselves to piss the League, we've played them away

Even Brentford were an outside play off bet when the season started

The season might not end up with all of those clubs being in the top half of the table, but at the time of playing them they were amongst the most difficult looking fixtures we could have had thrown at us. We've played those teams and now sit in fourth place, two points behind the leaders.

4 points from the next 2 games and i think people outside the football club may start to consider us as a possibility for a top 6 finish.

I meant Cardiff and not Middlesboro before anyone corrects me :-)

In fairness, pundits on Sky and C5 have tipped us as a decent bet for the playoffs since the opening day. One thing that some pundits seem fascinated with, is how we attack down the wings with our Fullbacks with the CENTRE HALVES overlapping!

We were outplayed in the 1st home game against Brentford too
But they were hopeless up front and scared to shoot meaning although we were like the away side we just about deserved the win.

Basically it’s the early matches where we’ve been at our least impressive but we were new to the division.

Now we know what to expect and realise it’s not La Liga we’ve started consistently dominating play again.

We struggled with the intensity in the first few games last season too.

However, I don't think Brentford outplayed us at all. They had a decent last 20 mins against us, that's all.

At the time of playing Cardiff and Middlesboro we were still finding our feet a little bit. Gave both of them far too much respect I think
But that changed quickly and now at least teams that face us know they're gonna be in for a game regardless of the result.

And for this season that's all we want. We want the opposition to come off the field thinking WOW!!! that was tough.
If it takes us to new heights that's great, if it establishes us as a decent Championship side that's great as well.

I bet they said the same after Huddersfield beat them.

In my opinion most of our players are better than most of theirs. If their chairman like to spend millions on players because he's heard their name, rather than invest in a scouting network, than that's his perogative.

But most don't get that either. The sum is not greater than its parts.
CW and AK. have taken professional footballers and made them realise they are better than how they have been playing up to coming to us.
Just look at how each one of our players is confident with the ball and they all use their brains to move the ball out of difficult situations.
They are not playing above themselves. They were always good footballers it just took someone with confidence in them to make them believe it.

On paper we have only had two games we were expecting to win Bolton and Barnsley, the dingles to be fair were not bad considering how many of their better players have been sold. I think we have played a good selection of La Liga so far.
These grunters will never get it all they think about is price tags and attendances.

I said early doors that match fitness at the season start was not at the levels we finished last season. I expected us to get better and better as new players understood our system and reached the higher fitness levels demanded.
After Sunday, confidence could drive us to do just that, and become better and better as we go.

And agree about the centre halves BTW....other clubs have adopted the central 3 at the back, but I don’t see their CB players overlapping wide or carrying the ball to the edge of an opponents box to join the attack. The lad CCV is going to learn a LOT this season, and go back to spurs with his eyes wide open and full of confidence in what his role in a side can be and how he can influence a game attacking wise even at centre half.

As for some pig fans....they are just thick. They are looking at the wrong stat when they decide what makes a good player. They look at cost. Whereas I look at their touch, ability on the ball, intelligence, work rate...etc etc. No person who saw that game can tell me that as a player, Lee is better than Fleck or Coutts. Nobody. Or that they had one centre half who does the job of centre half better than JOC.
They may have the name to command fees and wages of a star....but this time next year it will be our players who are the star names having earned that reputation through doing it...not talking about it.

Hmmmm, good point, well made.

They are not playing above themselves. They were always good footballers it just took someone with confidence in them to make them believe it.

Good point but it is a bit more than that. The whole team belief is more than just CW giving confidence. They have created this themselves having won promotion / the title / 100 points / competing in La Liga.

The playing squad have a spirit that is so rare these days. CW/AK will be very careful in the JTW to ensure that any 'big players' we try to sign enhance this. This spirit might disappear this season or maybe, just maybe, might be kept going for a few years yet.

What a time to be a Blade!

Damn right, JJB.

Winning the last three consecutive away games, comfortably beating Brentford, Barnsley and Derby at home. Very unfortunate to lose v. Norwich with practically no strike force. In fact, the only 'luck' involved so far has been the bad luck which denied us a point at Middlesbrough. And all this with our talismanic leading scorer for over two seasons having played a full 90 minutes only twice so far.

But those of us who've watched us know this. We've got a team of unknowns and ragamuffins very similar to the Bassett years who are performing superbly (we haven't played badly in any of the 9 games so far). I just hope we perform in the next two games (four points will do me). That will be around a quarter of the season gone and all the pig talk about 'having played nobody' and having 'third division players' will be like everything else that comes out of their mouths - utter fucking bollocks.

I've come to the conclusion that they know f@#k all about football players.
Harry Maguire turning circle of a tanker springs to mind.

I’ve just bothered to look up a few of their places to see what they can justify their claims of having superior players.....has anyone else done this?

Having done so, it doesn’t make for spectacular reading by any stretch.
Kieran Lee....released by Man U having played a couple of games in the cup, and signed on a free from Oldham.
Tom Lees....ex aleeds....hardly fantastic.
Bannan....crap Villa side, not a regular....then in the Champ.
Hooper, 2seasons in the premier, 8 goals for Norwich. Then Celtic...FFS....HARDLY A SUPERSTAR.
Wallace....championship player at best. Released by Burnley.
Jones....another released and picked up with nothing to speak of.
Hunt.....nowt.
Rhodes...all bar one season out of the top flight. Even then, hardly played for Boro. Scored a few for Udders in lower league one, and a fair few for Blackburn to be fair. But not sure it warranted that kind of fee.
The Dutch lad....played in a vastly inferior league, and was all over the place.

The only real quality player they have, the Ione with the ability to play higher....Forestieri. He has the shall we say “Brooks star quality”

So, any pig who tries to sell this story, just make them look at what they have. It’s nothing great. It’s an average squad at best with Forestieri and Rhodes as decent strikers, with Bannan as useful. The rest won’t play premier league football. I certainly doubt they will have ANY pre ire league clubs interested in a single one of their players.

Absolutely correct! Staggering how much they still fail to acknowledge that we smashed them because we have quality players.

If Enda Stevens had signed for us from Aston Villa in 2015 (for a big fee) they'd acknowledge his quality

Indeed it is, and in some ways I`m having to pinch myself to make certain I`m not dreaming. Perhaps what amazes me more than anything, is the speed with which CW & AK etc. have turned the club around.

You forgot serial-crock Steven Fletcher. Signed by the moronic Sunderland for £12m in August 2012, less than four years later his career had advanced so much, he joined Wendy...on a free! Oh, he did have a half-decent international stint with Scotland, last being capped a mere nine years ago.
And Adam Reach - 20 goals in 190 apps. Well worth £5m...

Wendy have a knack of paying over the odds for players whose best years are behind them.

Hhmmmmm IIYB humility a word that has never been in the grunters vocabulary and never will be.

'twill always be thus...

It's not worth bothering with. It's all bluster and bullshit, something they do excel in. We march forward, while they whinge, moan, and repeat the same ignorant drivel.

With each passing day they wake and the emphatic nature of Sunday's result remains embedded in their memories.

A point will arrive when we'll no longer have them in our sights, or hear their infantile griping.

They know the cost of everything ............and the value of NOTHING !!

Rather than them saying that not one of our players would get in their team, the only one I'd have of theirs is Forestieri, and CW wouldn't touch him 'cos he's a trouble-causing little cunt. Rhodes has a good 'history' in his career, but Carlos has managed to sideline him!

Memo to Mr. McCabe when clubs come in for Brooksy - look at the millions Wendy have wasted on utter stiffs. Start the bidding at £20m + add-ons.

The way they behave reminds me of old aristocrats. They have a (deluded) feeling that they have some divine right to be respected. They feel the rest of us should prostrate ourselves at their feet and show them respect they havent deserved nor earned. They implore the rest to behave morally whilst shagging their sister's sister. They highlight everyone else's faults without admitting their own.
I wasn't bothered about them, in fact I liked them, before I started looking on forums in 2010. The level of arrogance shown, week in week out on opposition forums helped me develop an healthy disdain for them.
As a friend of mine said, he coaches in League one, the Blades have a fantastic academy, training ground, stadium and a fan base to die for. Compare that with what they have, a decaying temple of a stadium and a decaying training ground. Their time is past, time for the new aristocrats to come to the fore.
