In a nutshell, what Wilder/Knill have turned us into in little over a year. A skilled, drilled, hard working football team which is rapidly earning respect from all except our near neighbours it seems. When fans of a side which has spent £50m on quality players are talking about us in terms ranging from fear to respect, we have to take that as a huge complement.

Nice weird one. More compliments than usual, but still the notion persists that teams we beat are having a bad one or not that good rather than the quality we show. Does show that opinion is beginning to shift though, which is a shame as I like us being seen as opportunists with no real talent.

“Think it’s gonna be a really tough game. I’d be well happy with a point right now, being honest. Not saying we can’t win like, but just gotta be realistic.”

“The United game will be a real test. Tough place to play and the crowd is intimidating. it will definitely show how far we’ve come if we can win there.”

“Tough game and I’d definitely take a point if offered it now. It really could go either way though, United will be buzzing after dicking Wednesday.
If we play as we can, we will win. If we play as we did against Barnsley we will lose.”

“Sheffield utd are going to be very tough to beat.”

“Really hard game ahead. Heart and head saying different things…”

We are 9 games into this season and we have earnt the respect of football fans.

We ALL know this - except the fans that think/thought we are/were a pub league team...............well, we put them right on Sunday.

My take away from that lot - Other teams/fans are starting to take note. Could be a good or a bad thing - teams will adjust to counter us and be less comfortable as a consequence or we're no longer going to be the auto-under dog so the expectation will start to rise.

Does this mean we need to stop taking the piss about Sunday now and move on.....

Never!

Yep, back to the grind I'm afraid!

(Don't stop taking the piss though...)

Will be a tough game. Some fair comments from the Wolves lot and I'm absolutely chuffed to see that many aren't looking forward to playing us. Really hope there's no complacency or hangover from Sunday's events, but I sincerely doubt our Chris will allow any of that.

When did we lose 3-0 to Southend again? :D

I think this is a game where most fans on both sides would take a draw.

I certainly think it would be a good result for us given that we had that game on Sunday, and given the quality of Wolves' squad and the extra day of rest and preparation they've had.

I think they're decent comments on the whole.

The question is though, how many teams are going to 'play crap' or 'not turn up' against us before people start to realise that how we play forces the opposition to make mistakes? It's no coincidence that it keeps happening.

That's not to take away how difficult this game will be tomorrow.

Showing us a lot of respect which could be a good sign. They must see cracks in what looks like their great form, would take a point.

We've beaten four out of the bottom five, in fairness. Wolves will be a good indicator of where we're at.

You might say that - but it is ONLY Cardiff that has dicked us - and even in that game, we could fall back on the NW stigma - he hates losing to the Blades.

Comments seem reasonable and fair on the whole. They are a good side playing good football so it's going to be a very tough test, especially after the euphoria of Sunday.

Can we make it two wins on the bounce?

Norwich manager had already taken note and adopted a tactic to deal with us.

I don’t think Wolves manager will show the same respect and will feel his side is too good....which could be a mistake. A lot is said about being the right time to play someone, and this could work for both clubs.

Travelling up here for a Wednesday night match against a team that is on the crest of a wave after thumping their close neighbours could be daunting for a few foreign players not used to that kind of competitiveness in their country.
On the other hand, United playing a side with the talent they have only three days after a physically and mentally draining game against your neighbours could see them a little flat. Coming down from that high can make some go very low.

Personally, IMHO I would have preferred a week to get over the game. Will see if I am right.

Some fair comments but also quite few who are of the opinion we are just hard working, well drilled but that the pigs were shocking on Sunday. Oh yeah and old boy Clarke is a clown and only Brooks looks decent maybe another lot who will get a shock if their team think the same way.

Maybe that is part of the reason they are in the bottom five I can't see Brentford and Sunderland remaining so low.

My thoughts exactly. Wolves will be a VERY good indicator and we'll be 10 games in - the figure many quote as the time to make a proper assessment of our chances.

I can with Sun'lan
