Well?

I think at the time when we sold him we didn't really need him but now it looks like he could have done a decent job for us. This is a side that is crying out for pace up front and getting knock-ons from Darius would have helped him a great deal. I think he could of done a good job for us at the minute and maybe popped up with a few goals.

What do you lot think?

Nope. Didn't work up top with Beatts last year. Couldn't see it now either.

Just my humble.

absoloutley not, i though he was total shite ( one good game against man u). i would rather we had kept stead.

He's just moved again on loan... His pace was handy, but he struggled big time at times with the ball.

Probably worth moving on at the time as we were fairly striker heavy.

Hmm. Shelton was bought as a development player, wasn't he? Hardly got the opportunity to develop in my opinion. Like Foxy says though, at the time we were striker heavy, and I'm sure he wasn't on development-player's wages.

I agree we should've kept Stead - and purely because I have hindsight on my side, Hulse too.

Shelton has been capped at U-17, U-20, U-23 and national level for Jamaica. Shelton scored his 25th goal for Jamaica vs Guadeloupe. He is now the 2nd leading Jamaican goalscorer. [6] In June 2008 he scored five goals in two 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying games for Jamaica against the Bahamas. Later the same month, he scored two goals as Jamaica won 7–0 and scored a hat-trick as Jamaica won 6–0

Banging them in for Jamaica

Never really given a chance and I think if Warnock hadn't gone on a mad spending spree on strikers he may of got a chance.

Although he did have downsides to his game but his skill and pace were good.

I saw a fair few games where Shelton played well, Man Utd was obviously one, but another game that stands out for me was Colchester away.

I think his best partnership was when he played with Stead.

Shelton for me was hit and miss, but generally when he started games (albeit not many) he played well. When he came on as sub he was generally poor.
