After the 2012 derby when Evans was still "innocent until proven guily" the local media ignored the widespread bile aimed at Evans during the Hillsborough derby ("she said no" etc). There was a subsequent focus on any pro Evans chants, distasteful or otherwise, instigated by Blades supporters during the process of his trial, imprisonment, attempted signing, and signing. Yesterday, the extra judicial judgement of Evans by owls fans continued - despite Evans not even playing!: http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foot...effield-wednesday-explicit-language-1-8769842
The general level of bile aimed at the arriving Blades players is one thing that the writer and media in general can perhaps play down as part of the game. The specific chants at the exonerated Evans are surely quite another? Or is it ok to have trial by Wednesday fan? It seems to me that the microscopic analysis of Blades supporters peccadiioes , is not matched in nearly the same way when it comes to our rivals faults.Or am I imagining it?

Was genuinely shocked by that. What horrible fans

Totally agree, Totally innocent man being given the shite like that off the Vile scum at S6.

Totally different to the scenes at BDTBL last night when the coach returned with the Red and White heroes.

Was mobbed. Fantastic scenes.

Getting your knickers in a twist over nothing. AS if he wasn't my going to get abused everywhere he went!

Lest we forget, I remember us singing songs with the line 'yorath is a paedophile' and such the like. Was that ok then?

The only people that care about Evans being made innocent are a section of blades fans. As far as the rest of the country are concerned, he still is a rapist. Justified? Absolutely not. But when have facts or evidence ever been a stumbling block for football fans?

And comparing it to racist abuse and the like is, frankly, ridiculous and offensive in itself!

I do have to say having watched it again, they are a poisonous set of yobs. It's the light-hearted way the star reports it that is poor. If the piggy players received that kind of reception at the lane I fear the tone would very different.

I can honestly say I don't think I have ever seen a team arriving at any ground recieving that level of bile. Makes it even more satisfying really, particularly the Wednesday reject bagging a brace!

Looking at those inbreds hardly seemed to scare our players! If the barriers had been removed they would have melted away silently. Evans and Sharp were laughing at the ugly South Dingles.

I expect there would be a handful of Blades who'd do the same, in a reverse situation.

Having said that, no doubt this would have fired the lads up even more, especially for Clarke.... Wednesday reject..... ok then, have 2 goals you bar-stewards!

Everything about the way the piggies handled themselves pre-match both inside and outside of the club, even with little instances like this, all contributed to their hilarious and most satisfying capitulation.....

There was a shot of Evans part way through the match on Sky, smiling and laughing on the bench, tbh it's probably like water off a ducks back for him by now. Fully to be expected from pig fans, Ched probably thinks bring it on, whatever they have to say is never going to be as bad as being stuck in prison for something you haven't done.

I see the Parson Cross pigs were showing their class again some with infants sat on their shoulders, you know I do worry for these kids and how they will turn out when they grow up. More disappointing is the Star reporter Chris Holt who seems to think this behaviour is normal and to be expected. Reading some of his articles clearly show him as a pig fan he is openly hostile to everything about United. I have seen United teams arrive at places like Elland Rd and the Den and get good natured banter hurled at them but not get that sort of vile abuse. Still we had the last laugh.

Who brings their kids to a scene like that? I'm sure similar things happen at the Lane, but it's ridiculous either way.

Boo and chant all you like, but anyone yelling grim personal abuse within 2 yards of a bloke just going about his job needs a severe word from plod.

Think it's a bi product of social media, people think it's acceptable to bring into the real world these days.

Parents should be ashamed for not walking away when they heard that type of language and abuse being dished out.

Star should be ashamed for publishing it uncensored or without an utter unequivocal condemnation. Bet they are raking social media for vid of Blades beating up a granny.

I remember us singing songs with the line 'yorath is a paedophile'

I know you mean the 'Royal' 'us' but I for one would distance myself from using a players misfortunes and indiscretions as a chant in public. I did boo Hughes at the Lane but that was a personal choice.

No mention of the poisonous vile mob who turned up at Leppings lane around 12.30 to hurl hatred and abuse at a few Blades fans including me at aged 65 - when I was spat on by some low life pig .The SYP did nothing for ages as these yobs continued to harry a small number of Blades who were trying to get in the ground ! Theres a picture of the mob and also one of the cowards with a hoody and cap trying to cover his face.

Have you apologised for saying Wilder was lying about Sharps injury yet?

Doesn't make it right. On the Yorath comment: two wrongs don't make a right. The Star et al are more than willing to comment on other illegal activities at yesterday's match, but developed a blind spot when "not guilty" Evans was accused of being, erm, guilty ,by Wednesday neanderthals yesterday.

Danny04 has understandably claimed that the Derby day crush is beyond his remit, but many Star sports journalists weighed in on the Ched debate. Any response to my opening post and this debate in general Danny? Why hasn't the Star condemned the chants of the Wednesday fans re Evans on Sunday?

Can't believe the pig managers allowed the home supporters to get so close to the players, at least CW didn't need to do a team talk.

When the pork visit the Lane they should make them park their bus at the bottom of the Moor and walk in.

I can't believe that Ched Evans wasn't the whole thing bringing up in a media report every time some opposing fans start chanting. In fact it could encourage opposing fans. I don't understand why anyone would want his name and Sheffield United's name to be repeated again and again in relation to this. Stop getting riled up by opposing fans' chants - that's what they want.
