Monty is not bad week in week out. Monty has a specifc job sit in front of the back four and defend. okay he is limited in terms of creativity but I thoughts that why Howard was brought in

I cant see this making an instant improvement- Ithink we are playing too many players out of position ie webber left wing.
I think by putting someone more attacking with Monty would give an improvement.
ie the four in midfield against Donny- 3 were defensive and one was a striker

This is exactly what I have been saying for ages. If he insists of play Monty The Pantomine Mule the best thing for us is that we seel him so he cant pick the cunt.

Personally I have always like Quinn but recently his form ahs dipped. I wouldnt be looking to get rid of him.

The best thing for our midfield would be to play Howard and Hendrie in the middle of park.

Am I alone in thinking that isolated shouts of dissent or insults toward the players don't actually have that much of an effect?

Bramall Lane is a pretty big place. No matter how loud it sounds to you when someone's yelling down your earhole, it's not that likely that the players on the pitch will hear much distinctly. If a couple of people around you are shouting abuse at a player, of course it's going to make a racket, but I can't hear what someone on the John Street Stand is shouting from the Kop, unless they make a hell of a racket.

Even if the players did hear some of the dissent aimed towards them, who's to say that it won't improve the way they play? No one knows, and for someone to make a statement such as 'booing doesn't help' is a little arrogant. For all you know, it might spur them on to improve their game.

True I do see what you mean.

Depends on the type of person though some do take the positive from negative criticism.

i think we have the player's to be creative in central midfield even with monty and quin but its not good to play them both in the middle dont think they compliment each outher.

the main problem is we don’t play with any real wingers so the opposition closes in to the centre and cuts every thing out almost to the point where we cant get the ball out wide as they don’t perceive our wing play as a real threat we need a left winger more than any other position.

last week we had a striker playing on the left and a right back on the right.
its plane to see how it was easy to shut down our midfield.

i think if we had the luxury of time webber could become a winger if we only play him on the wing and give him time to learn a new trade but it's hard to switch role week to week.
if this is what Blackwell wants from him it should be done threw reserve games not first team.

Hendrie would be better than webber on the left get cotts on the right we have plenty to choose from for centre midfield sun ji Halford or monty to hold Howard or quin to attack if we want to play hendrie central as well we need a left winger

Why the name calling?
Not called for at all.
Howard and Hendrie in the middle is nice on paper but I can't see it working because neither of them would help the defence out, at all.

Because he winds me up so much, going to the footy is meant to be fun but with him playing it just pisses you off.

I admit Howard isnt that likely to tackle back but Hendrie is more than willing to put a big tackle in. To say how much he has been ignored he plays with a lot passion when he gets a chance, he is always trying to get the team going.

On the other hand having a midfield that can keep hold of the ball and go forward creatively would automatically take the pressure off the back four. I know there old cliches but if we have the ball and are attacking they cant score.
