I just went for a piss thinking about what to reply to the OP.
My thoughts are just like Tyler Durden I utterly 100% HATE the fecking cunts with ever cell and atom in my body.
If I won the Euro super lottery I would buy the feckers up under false pretences so I could close the feckers down and invite all blades to help drive the demolition swinging ball crane to wipe that shit hole off the face of the planet and replace it with a free range pig zoo as a permanent reminder to rub it into the noses of those vile cunts from the dark side.

Fuck the Fucking PIGS.

I hate wednesday and their "ites" with a passion...
There is absolutely nothing good about any of them.

I am sure that the internet and specifically the nest of imbeciles that is Pork Talk has made them bigger cunts than they ever used to be

My Mum and most of her family were walkley grunters, and pretty vile when it came to football (naturally) but the new breed of pork really are fuckin scum

You most likely didn't grow up in school with those cunts in the early 90's, in a Wednesday-dominated area of Sheffield.

We were well and truly on the back foot in those days, and their spite and arrogance was relentless.

So yes, I loathe and detest Wednesday with every fibre of my being and make zero apology for it. Every victory against them is a victory for decency. And my god am I a happy man right now.

Up Dem Fuckin Blades.

Tyler Take 20 years off. Shiregreen in the 70's was just as bad. It makes no difference. They are still vile piggy scum that need to rot at the bottom of a deep cesspool.

I'm not someone who hates their fans, I do hate their club and what they stand for though:

-Going into administration
-Spending shit loads of money and probably breaching FFP
- Never developing youngsters
- A dilapidated stadium

Add to that the fact that their fans were remorselessly singing 'this city is ours' around Hillsboro corner before kick off, it all makes for a very sweet victory...

Shiregreen in the 70s , youve just taken me straight back to my Grandads on Sicey / Fircroft Ave and my time at Longley Junior School and memories of my Blades childhood in a Wendy area !
My Grandad missed our victory in the 1925 Cup Final only coz my Dad was about to be born.
3 generations of staunch Blades living in an uncomfortable minority in S5.

I can count on one hand how many of my friends are pigs. They are good mates until we start talking about football, and then their persona becomes completely twatish. There are also pigs on my mothers side of the family, but they're in Barnsley so I don't associate with them often.

I can't agree with the OP about it being better that they support the pigs rather than Man U or Chelsea living in Sheffield. If you are a football fan from Sheffield, that doesn't support United, then ANY other club is preferable to those dirty bastards.

I hate them with a passion

Im amazed that anyone living or working in Sheffield can avoid having mates who support Wednesday. I've got mates who I used to go to school with, work colleagues from various places who I've kept in touch with, family etc. How's it possible to avoid it ??? It makes for great banter especially on weekends like this. You're missing out if you insist on having no Wednesday mates in your life.

I live on Fircroft Avenue! When I moved up here, against my personal will, I was sure it would be full of Pig fans, but I've been presently surprised how many Blades there are here! I presume its changed from the 70's re support?

To my knowledge the pigs never went into administration. They were hours from it until Mandaric sadly saved them from it, although thankfully they were still relegated! The last three points though are valid!

As for the hatred towards them like Coolhandluke said about them been vile scum etc etc, and he's not alone in saying similar stuff. Are they really vile scum?! I read that sort of stuff from Pigtalk too and to be honest I find it disappointing. Like them or not, we all come from the same city and although they have a definite arrogance as a whole, I would never say they are vile scum! Each team has fans from a similar area so there is no class divide. IE for Wednesday having Parsons Cross we have the Manor, for Chapeltown and Ecclesfield we have a stronghold in Beighton, for Crookes and Walkay that the pigs tend to have stronger support we have strong support in North Derbyshire and even Dore is likely to be more United than the pigs.

The point is that neither team can say the other is more working class or one fan base is morally superior, because its rubbish! I just think we lower ourselves to Porktalk standards when we call them vile scum!

They make themselves people you want to slap
They are in the main just so arrogant and deluded and still think we are jealous , not sure what of. The way they once again dismissed us as a pub team shows a complete lack of respect to us. It won't stop them promoting themselves as something special which we once again proved they certainly are not
I think they have built up a superiority complex, with being above us for so long, and now can't accept we're back stronger than ever. The arrogance will fade the more we are leading the way.

Hate the club, but some individuals are fine. As an exiled Yorkshireman in Scotland as a kid, my best mate (and best man when I got married) was an oinker.

Most Scots up here I talk to are pretty complimentary about us Blades. The other day a few mentioned a small group had come up to follow Morton.

Most of us know, or have friends/relatives that are porkers, and 99% of the time everything is fine.
But for me, and I'm sure a few more blades, get the feeling that they have something missing. I can't put my finger on it, but you'll know what I mean.
9 X out of 10, whenever I meet friends of friends, or friends of family, within 10 seconds I'm thinking, pig.

To be objective Wednesdayites tend to be somewhat (or very) arrogant and thus over confident. Unitedites tend to be (and with some justification) more pessimistic.

I think Unitedites are the more loyal and steadfast of the two but Wednesday tend to get slightly bigger gates and probably do have a bigger fan base. Both sets of supporters are passionate about their clubs which is good.

I don't care. My team are genuine, especially so under Wilder and I don't like blue only wearing it for work, (no blue car under any circumstances) :)

I actively hate them with every fibre of my being when we play them. Not being in the same division and being outside Sheff now has calmed it for me but watched it on a chalet site in Cornwall yesterday and just before kick off a Piggy turned up and it brought everything flooding back. Fuck them and the pig they ride in on

Agreed. A lot of this "hate" stuff is way over the top. My dad took me to Bramall Lane when I was 9. From then on, I was a Blade. That was nearly 70 years ago.
My best pal, who lived two doors away from me, was taken to Hillsborough by an uncle when he was a similar age to me. He became a lifelong Owl. That's the way it works.

My pal remained a firm friend and was Best Man at my wedding.

I don't like wearing blue, though my wife tells me that the colour suits me. If I buy a new toothbrush, it's always red and white.

I agree. I get all the stuff about "delusions of grandeur", all the "massive" shite, but aint sure about them all being vile scum ! I've got Wednesday mates who big themselves so much you'd believe they'd won the Champions League more than Forest, and pretty normal ones who talk sense and knew what was coming on Sunday. I don't personally know any who I'd class as vile scum - maybe I'm mixing in the wrong piggy circles !! You just cant beat a two-club city rivallry. Half the city waking up this morning dreading going to work, the other half absolutely loving it. Certainly beats anything Leeds have got.

I think you're right there. They are more arrogant and as a rule we are more pessimistic! They have a larger, but more dormant fan base, that only turns up in big numbers for the glory games - or games that could lead to glory but they've bottled of late! Ha ha!

I think our fan base has definitely increased in the last 10 years or so, probably going up to the Prem had a major impact there, not just for the short term but for a generation after. Wednesday have been out of the Prem for so long that they have no doubt lost many fans over the years that would only go when they're in the Prem because their fan base seems to be largely dormant as I said.

haha that's so true about toothbrushes.

I have family (married into a piggy family ) who are piggies and best mates , the thing I got mostly last night was yes you deserved it so I am pissed off that I wasn't able to really give it to them :(

i used to fancy this bird who gave out confusing signals and i was trying to lose interest.. one time she was sleeping with one of the wednesday players and made a joke about her reputation and 'anyone would think she'd slept with the entire first team' .. she was basically bragging.. anyway my mate says 'you know he's a Blade don't you'??
and that was it.. my interest was killed stone dead and she knew it

Parson Cross in the 70's was 97% blue, the only unitedites I knew were 2 shopkeepers and Sam Major, as estates got knocked down, and people rehoused, the numbers of blades became higher.
I was still the black sheep in both sides of the family though... I preferred the sensible one in a family of fools..

It seems us older ones have a more realistic view of what being a supporter of a paticular club is all about ,like you I was taken to the lane as a very young boy and being a Blade was never in doubt.
Most football fans were made this way 50 or more years ago, today it seems television and the media have a bigger say in which team people support.
In a place like Sheffield though family traditions still have a big say in which club you support

I agree with you 100% DB but I would give them a slow death, appoint a shit manager, shit players and watch them slowly drop out of existence, getting battered every week.
Sit back and listen to RS every night it would be priceless.
When they were in the Sunday league, then the pig zoo.

Not that I've thought about it.
