Must of been unbelievable today to be at the game.
I think that we are now all beginning to believe that something genuinely special is happening with our pub team.
After so many years of fucking things up we are the real deal and ain't it great.

Quickly though I do laugh and even cringe at some of vile comments that go backwards and forwards between fans.
Now look I hate Wednesday as much as anyone, but the fans, no, why, I would rather they supported them than Man Utd or fuckin Chelsea and they support Wendy cause of where they live, or Family etc.
All this I hate the Cunts I don't get.
You must all work with them, live with them even sleep with them. Sheffield must be a constant war zone !
Christ I'm going to Chelmsford tomorrow to watch Yorkshire and what should I do chin some fella at tea when I find he comes from the dark side.

I agree, I'd much rather someone from Sheffield (or in their case, Rotherham) supported Wednesday than Man U or Arsenal. I can't stand plastic glory supporters who think the fact they've been plastic all their lives makes it ok.

I've got a fair few Wednesday mates (who appear to have all disappeared this afternoon) and there's the normal 'banter', but we're a bit older so there's no real hatred anymore. It's not like both teams haven't had to put up with lots of shit over the years. I think it beats people down!

I don't understand why anyone would attempt to harm someone else because they support a different football team. It's one of the most stupid aspects of human nature. The same with people going out looking for a fight at the weekend. It's a compelling case for sterilisation.

I have been going to derby matches for 55 years and have never been spat on until today ! Waiting outside lepppingslane for my mate to arrive with my ticket and a few thousand pigs arrive at the same time and I have never experienced as much vile hostility in my life -I moved to the side but was spat on by a couple of cunts who were cowards so glad we gave it to them just for that incident alone but for everything

You most likely didn't grow up in school with those cunts in the early 90's, in a Wednesday-dominated area of Sheffield.

We were well and truly on the back foot in those days, and their spite and arrogance was relentless.

So yes, I loathe and detest Wednesday with every fibre of my being and make zero apology for it. Every victory against them is a victory for decency. And my god am I a happy man right now.

I agree with the above totally. I think its great that people in Sheffield do support their local side. However, Wednesday fans don't help themselves on a regular basis. They need a reality check, and have done since they were relegated from the Premier League. Thankfully we have more humility at the Lane even in better times we know we're a big, but not massive, club and the whole massive things from them, although a joke, is also taken seriously by many of their fan base.

I don't think fans of other clubs in the country realise how arrogant they are because they don't have to live near the sods!

And as for the family etc, I have no family that support them, I've never even dated a pig fan, although if I'd met a nice lass who was a pig fan it wouldn't have stopped me dating one but thankfully I married a lass from down South who know supports the Blades!

I like most blades hate Wednesday but not there supporters ,all clubs have some vile fans including us.
I have been going to derbies since late fifties the first I remember was us losing in the FA cup 1960 2-0,Wilkinson scored them both and played in front of 60000 at bramall lane..
We all have friends and family who support Wednesday would we want them hurt at a football match.
When I was a teenager groups of us went to these matches both Wednesday and United there was plenty of banter but rarely any trouble it would be great if them times came back but alas the young ones today seem to enjoy the bitterness which has taken over.

Yes the one thing I really don't like about derbies is the real hate that seems to be generated between supporters of the two clubs. I remember probably the last Derby at Bramall Lane and the police were escorting a large group of Wendy fans along Bramall Lane and the atmosphere from the Blades fans was just full of hate and totally intimidating. I've been to many derbies over the years at both grounds and seen the same atmosphere in the grounds and I've experienced some pretty unpleasant abuse at Swillsboro. Yes I do hate SWFC and find some of the supporters a bit arrogant but I find the "hate" really awful and wish it was not there.

I'm an exile and today was the best football day for a long time. Now I was born in Sheffield but my children weren't; they were born in London and it was one of the best football days for them ever too. Today is what being a blade is about and we hate Wednesday and all they represent. For 99.9% of my life I am a reasonable and mature person but when it comes to them I'm not. I hate them. I hate the club. I hate their fans. I love united and we beat them.
