Thought CW/AK's team selection and tactics today were spot on and outstanding. Playing Bash in midfield seemed to work a treat and Brooks and Clarke up front worked so well. Then when Wendy equalised they took a centre half off and put Duff, an attacker on. No question of hanging on for the draw. It was genius and won us the game. Completely out thought Carlos....

He brought Duffy on for Wright just before the equaliser, and my view at the time was that the equaliser may have been down to that initial reorganisation – CCV ended up on his arse in the new role. But it was a sign even before the equaliser by Wilder that he sensed we had more goals in us, and it worked an absolute treat.

Just an observation, not a criticism, but Jake didn't have a great game and was at fault for their first. Had it been Stearman, it would have been mentioned without a doubt.

At fault is being a bit harsh pinchy - it was quality movement by Hooper
Jake had a far better game at CH than a certain Van Dutchman costing £4m.

I think he made one error in the second half that nearly gifted a goal before he went off, and possibly could have done more for the first. However, excellent block with his head first half, and a couple of important blocks with his feet. And I stand by my comment that the defence was still getting used to the change when he went off.

no matter how the formation changed second half I don't think rhodes even touched the ball when he came on.

its exciting times here , we have a team with skill , passion and belief and a managment team who IMO are up there with the smartest/ cleverest around in any league
the tactics and subs were just spot and fantastic - must admit i was thought it might be too defensive at kick off but I''m an idot and CW and AK are gods !
taking away from the fact we have just beaton the filth ,
they are one of the supposed top teams with one of the best home records in the league over the past few seasons (and letting in very few goals ) and we have just beaten then and scored 4
onwards and upwards and who knows where we might be come May
Wolves with be a great test as they are doing great also

To come out and play like we did in the lions den and be 2 up in a quarter of an hoùr shows the go for it attitude running through the club.
I've said it before when we ran away with league one this is the best team I've ever watched .for passing .Some of the inter changes under pressure were world class.
Every one of them were playing intricate triangles. And the confidence to try flicks and tricks flows through the team

Yes, with the original formation you would have expected Wright to step in and challenge Joao on their equaliser. But even before that they were starting to push more players forward, including their full backs, and it was their left back who assisted on Joao's goal. With the formation change we again started to ask more questions of them defensively and prevented them from going forward so freely out wide. Obviously Duffy's 3-2 goal was a sucker punch for them, but we managed to control the game better with the 4-3-3.

Ready to be shot down but when does a player become off side?
First ball comes in, Hooper stood off side but the ball doesn't get to him.
Second ball comes in, Hooper stood off side but the ball doesn't get to him.
Third ball in Hooper on side and the ball gets to him.
Thought the liner flags when he becomes active, seen it before so why wasn't Hooper offside from his previous positioning.
The liner doesn't flag these days if stood off side until you become active so if another pig had scored then Hooper wouldn't and wasn't flagged but........
........at what point do you become active?

Up to 5 first choice players not starting yet Wilder and Knill still find a way to beat them.
They're brilliant.
Basham in midfield worked well today, alongside the superb Coutts and Fleck.
And at the start of the second half we quickly made adjustments to stop them getting in down the flanks, which worked for the most part. While at least maintaining our attacking threat by bringing Duffy on.
Wednesday were clueless by the end. They had no answers.

Good point and Kammy was asking the same thing about Harry Kane yesterday when he was miles off but not active in the first phase but clearly gained an advantage to score in the second phase.
Which is strange because my Wendy mate was telling me just last week how good their new centre half is. I think he's still turning in circles trying to find out where Duffy has gone!

Seeing as you asked the questions, i've had a look.
1) 1st initial long ball from Hunt (I presume at Full back) - when Hooper comes into view he looks off by a yard, but we have to assume he's just run from an onside position with good timing and anticipation.
2) Header to Wallace - yes, true Hooper is stood offside but the header was clearly to Wallace, so Hooper deemed not active.
3) At the point Wallace stretches with the outside of his left foot and centres it, Hooper has gone onside because Jake has gone slightly past him.
4) Jake makes the mistake of trying to head a ball,not expecting the quick movement and then finish from Hooper.
Just looked a good goal as against poor defending. If we want to criticise, we could call if hoooooof ball from Hunt.
We just have to accept the new rules are to make the game more exciting and to get more goals in a game. Hooper was one of 2 or 3 piggy players that did ok today.

Absolutely spot on today. Set us up to completely own the first half.
We were rattled by their change in formation at the start of the second and again CW & AK changed it to perfection and won us the game.

Understand the new rule most of the time and I tend to like it, as you say at 2] Hooper definitely stood off side and if another pig player had scored quite correctly a goal would be given as Hooper wasn't interfering but..
..he then became active when the next one comes in, when does the liner flag?
