The Barrel on London Road is open early, I believe. Also a 15 mins walk from Sheaf Island Wetherspoons to Uni tram stop.

Last time I went we were in Bankers early doors. Got the football special (tram) to that place. Tram was bouncing all the way and some Wednesday bastard head butted a window through.

I don't have a ticket but if I did I'd consider supping round Kelham Island then getting the tram at Shalesmoor - presuming the pubs open at 11, that's 90 minutes to get hammered and a 15 minute tram ride to the ground.
