Trond Olsen is a pacey left wing with a very powerful left foot. He is also good at timing his runs. After a great season last year (10 goals and 13 assists in 26 matches) He made his international debut for Norway against Ukraine in November.

Any questions and I'd be happy to help.

Cheers from Norway

if we are trialing Trond Olsen, that is a joke

get him signed up, idiots.

Olsen lands Bramall Lane trial

Blades to take a look at Norwegian winger

Championship outfit Sheffield United have handed a trial to Bodo/Glimt winger Trond Olsen.
The Norway international has become a popular figure during the January transfer window, with a host of clubs tracking his availability.
Premier League duo Everton and Fulham were both believed to be keen on the 24-year-old, but it is the Blades that have offered him an opportunity to impress.
Olsen is hoping his time in England will prove to be worthwhile and is looking forward to the prospect of testing himself at Bramall Lane.
"I have known about this for a few days and it will be very exciting," he told Avisen Nordland.
"There are a few serious offers on the table now, with the likes of Fulham showing an interest."

They've been linked with him long before we have, if they want to take him, they'll take him.

We currently have the benefit of actually looking at him with the rest of the squad and showing him around the place.

im feeling confident on this one actually :) looks a good player

The Blades will continue their policy of trialling players despite not seeing anyone to catch the eye in the last few days.

Kevin Blackwell announced last weekend that three foreign players would be put through their paces at Shirecliffe but today admired:

"They all did okay but at this stage I won't be taking things any further with them. It is difficult for anyone to impress in a short time when I am looking for players better than what I have - but we shall run the rule over another couple next week."

Hope the ones next week are the one's I'd heard about, as they came with glowing recommendations!

Been speaking to a few Norwegian Guys tonight from the Glimt forum over there, and it seems to be quite interesting.

As far as the player goes, he is a fans favourite without a doubt, natural Lefty (which we knew) with lots of pace and an eye for goal. He scored 10 goals last season (Which is actually Half a season or 16 games as they break for the winter, the second half of the season is then the "Spring Season") and also added 12 assists. Plays usually as part of a 4-3-3 formation, loves to run at defences. Which is pretty much what we have seen on the net.

As far as the current situation goes its a little more confusing. We were all aware that players were arriving on trail, however according to the norwegian press this wasnt the case, they were reporting that he was arriving for a medical and to discuss terms, as a deal was pretty much secured. today the reports this morning were that he was returning home without a deal and nothing would be offered. However this was then changed to he was returning home, to consider an offer and that the clubs would be in discussion tomorrow (as kindly linked by burn)

In addition to all this, it seems as though the club (BODO/Glimt) are in rather alot of financial bother, to the point they are at risk of loosing there liscence (Similar to our FA league share), this unfortunately means that they have to raise money, and despite the fans dislike of this, it means selling Olsen.

hmmmmmmmm................ lets see how this develops!!!

We'll we could always buy the club and turn them around :D

Two articles for you today.

The first one concludes with this :

Blackwell, meanwhile, has decided not to pursue an interest in three foreign players, including Norwegian striker Trond Olsen, who had spent the last few days on trial at Bramall Lane.

the second, from Norway, says something different :

What's really going on? Your guess is as good as mine.

Have a nice weekend!
