My girlfriend sometimes likes to come with us to home games, but so far has only managed to get the seat next to us on one occasion. We were not quick enough on the other home games. Which takes me back to the thread title. Is there some way of knowing when home tickets 1st go on sale?

The problem is they just seem to put them on sale without prior notice, I was a couple of days too late when checking for the next two games, i,e, Ipswich and Reading?
I guess I'll just have to log on more frequently.
Always used to be roughly about a month beforehand.
PS you can always contact the ticket office and swap seats.

I emailed the club about this recently and got a vague "usually about a month in advance" reply so you're right, frequent checking is required.

The club will move your seats so you can sit together. There's been plenty of room on BL upper this season.

That's good. Will they also move your seats so you don't have to sit together as well? I'm thinking of the wife. It's not just the constant talking she does throughout the game, but it's that and the clicking of her knitting needles that drives me mad.

I'm afraid there's no better way of knowing in advance other than checking the OS. Although, you could keep an eye on a webcrawler, like "newsnow" which basically trawls the internet for anything to do with a specific word or words. So, for example, you can select "newsnow Sheffield United" and anything, anywhere, on the internet about Sheffield United will come up. Quite often the ticket details for away fans visiting Bramall lane appear on there - and that's usually around the time that the club put the home tickets on sale.

Failing that...if your girlfriend is good looking she can always come and sit in the spare seat next to me. o_O

I believe she speaks highly of you, although she does get a bit brassed off with the farting, snoozing and dribbling.

It turns out that the seat next to us is now occupied by a season ticket holder. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. For the Ipswich game we are thinking of moving to either BL upper or the corner, whichever has the fewest steps to climb, anybody know which?

Same no of steps I would imagine as it's all the same level? Go near the front then as you'll only have one lot to get up, not 2.
