Hello!

I've recently come into possession of another 1979 "Sabella" Hobbott kit. It's an original baby. I'm looking for either 85-87 away or 87-90 away.

I realise this is niche, but hey ho! worth a blast ey!

up the blades.

Which aways are those? Any piccies?

You're literally asking for two of the hardest shirts to find

I knowwwwwwww. But after 15 years of missing out. I figured it was worth a shot. And I can add things basically I just wanted to find out if anyone had one they might be willing to move on. They are my only gaps.

I had the second one somewhere, was in the back of the airing cupboard last time I checked but the Arnold Laver has just come off altogether and it's crinkled like a ballsack. Needs an iron badly.

Seen a couple go up on eBay for hundreds. Usually from European sellers.

Is there a reason old kits can't be reproduced? There are a couple that I've wanted to get my hands on for years and I'm sure there are others in the same boat. It would surely be a money spinner?

Some have been the hobbott ones with the little blades were all reproduced. I am a nerd purist though I want the originals.

I noticed there seemed to be a lot popping up 3 or 4 years ago. Never managed to get my hands on one though. I'd prefer the admiral one from 77-78 anyway but I've accepted it won't ever happen. I'm not one for buying the new ones that don't look as good and are plastered in advertising from all sides!

I collect blades shirts. They haven't appeared online for sale at all in the last 8 years or so. Sheer luck is required to obtain one, yet alone in good condition. (Join the queue) The last home shirt from the 80's (umbro) and the luminous yellow are as far back as you will find for sale and all i have found. Checking sites like vintage football shirts and classic football shirts aswell as ebay has only come up with these.

oooh, we've had a few more than that in our time. I got my Hobbott away kit from Russia about 4 years ago on eBay. it is frustrating though Glyn! I suspect it is a lot more popular these days. I kick myself every day for not getting the '88 away for 30 pounds, that was like 15 years ago.

ITS REYT FUN looking though. BLOODY RUDDY LOVE football shirts.

I only buy them in my size and good condition. Quite hard and spent some crazy money. Cracking collection and worth every penny.

This one ?

Any excuse !!!

Mine still has sweat marks from 1990 that I won't ever wash out. Bloody hot day it was !

There is no amount of money that would see me part with it :);)

UTB

Who's that bushy haired #5 of ours ?

I've got an Elkie Brooks world tour 1985 shirt in youths. Swap for the football shirt and you throw £200 in.

Love the thread about old kits, in fact I've just bought this season's home cos it is near identical to the 75/6 home - kind of my first season. But hang on, it's that picture of players that has caught my eye. What's the game and who the heck are they ....I'm assuming it's some kind of testimonial or charity game from the late 70's. I can pick a couple of local managers at the time Allan Clarke and Billy Bremner, Frank Worthington, Roy Macfarland??, Archie Gemmill, Geoff Hurst??, Minder and Brian Tyldesley off Coronation Street. WTF is that all about!!

I think it's more 80's than 70's.
Also Denis Waterman on the front row, didn't he have his own all star charity team.
