May i open with the agent of Jerome Sinclair. Clearly the lad wanted to come, hence being sat at Midland Station waiting for the move to happen only to be gazumped at the last minute. Feel sorry for the guy.

Especially Estate AgentsAgents are utter cunts.
Your point is well made.
Here is another.
Could Sinclair have jumped in a cab, been at Shirecliffe in 10 minutes, and taken control of his own destiny ?
Why sit around at the station twiddling his thumbs ?
Or put another way, told his agent to do one, I'll take over from here ??
I could be wrong, but I have doubts Sinclair ever landed in Sheffield.

If Sinclair ,and the other guy had anything about them (and if they really wanted to come) they would sack this agent and go elsewhere. Who is it btw ,anyone know ?Your point is well made.

Think it will cost the player if he sacks his agent. Wish players would use help from the PFAIf Sinclair ,and the other guy had anything about them (and if they really wanted to come) they would sack this agent and go elsewhere. Who is it btw ,anyone know ?
Many players don't read the small print in their contract with their agent and wouldn't fancy their chances of claiming misrepresentation through courtsIf he believes he has been mis represented then I doubt the agent would have a case ,and with much bigger fish in his net I doubt he would care.

Except that he moved from his previous agent who got him the lucrative contract from Liverpool to Watford. Wonder what Ward said to him about the move collapsing?Just a thought, maybe the contract a player had with his agent is so watertight they aren't allowed to do things like that without consent or a serious financial penalty.
These are young lads who were even younger when they signed their contracts with the agents. You don't hear about more senior players breaking from their agents all that often so I don't see how a young lad would be able to do it.
Ultimately, it feels like a watered down third party ownership. If the agent doesn't want a player to leave he can't. Agents sort out players contracts so you can guarantee the contract they have with the players will be close to airtight.
Che Adams was supposed to sign for Birmingham before the start of last season but he wanted to use a different agent for the transfer and this caused problems so the move was called off before Che finally had to accept that his agent sees through the transfer. Don't know if he now has a different agentJust a thought, maybe the contract a player had with his agent is so watertight they aren't allowed to do things like that without consent or a serious financial penalty.

Maybe it's just me. I find it difficult to grasp the role of agents, as in my own mind, i would be perfectly capable and confident negotiating my own terms. Maybe just have an agent deal with the off the pitch stuff, endorsements / image rights etc.

Ultimately, its not a bad idea. Need to avoid picking on blades players though. Should be plenty of other targets most weeksan acceptable wanker of the week thread
