The People:

Watford are set to pay off Leigh Bromby and let him go for nothing in the transfer window as they look to cut costs.

The former Sheffield United defender is not in Brendan Rodgers' plans and has been told to find another club while they sort out a golden handshake.

Brimby [sic], 28, is keen to get back to the north of England.

Would you have him back? Decent enough cover for nowt if he'd want to come.

I liked Bromby and i'd welcome him back at the lane.

If he is going for nothing then Id take him back.

Would be great to see who could throw it further, Halford or Bromby :D

I reckon Halford. He put an absolute bomb in yesterday from a standing position! didn't even need a run up!

Even i wouldn't have it back at Hillsborough.

He's rubbish

That what you all said when getting rid of Quinny, Bromby, Geary etc....

Funny how they seemed to do fairly well afterwards though.

Geary - Shite

Bromby - Shite

Quinn - I would have back.

Others are no better than what we already have.

was suprised whn he was let go and think he could still do a job at the lane, for nowt, well I thought woolies had closed all their shops now.

I'd have him back as long as it was written into his contract that he never ever played full back again. I remember how many fans slagged him off not long before he left. Granted, he came into a purple patch in central defence but he was shocking at right back. No wonder Keef's legs are fucked - a non smoker many years his junior would be knackered after all the tracking back he had to do to cover him!

bromby would be very good cover for us at right back centre half and for nothing
blackie knows broms game inside out so i would go for him

He really wouldn't be good cover at right back. He was shocking in that position before he left - one of the worst right backs I've seen. Centre back he was pretty decent though.

he's performed well for watford, so I'm slightly surprised. But with their financial position it makes sense. Would be interesting to have bromby and halford on the pitch at the same time.

He's back!

The popular defender has become Kevin Blackwell's first capture of the January transfer window. The 28-year-old has signed on loan until the end of the season when an agreed, undisclosed purchase will be completed.

"I'm buzzing, delighted to be back. I didn't really want to leave in the first place and I've jumped at the chance to come back," Bromby told sufc.co.uk

"There were other opportunities but when I heard United was in for me this was the move. I know a lot of the lads and it will be great to get re-acquainted. I've not worked with Kevin (Blackwell) but I've heard good things."

Bromby added: "The team is flying at the moment but I want to get back into the team as soon as possible. The fans know what I'm about and I'd like to think that I've improved in the year I've been away."

Bromby is cup-tied in the FA Cup having come on as a late substitute in the Hornets' third round victory over Scunthorpe United last week but is available to face his former team on Saturday in the Championship.

er..................i wonder why the Blades ever got rid of him ?...............must be sum new master plan 'cheap as chips' and 'our terry' have dreamed up.

I'm glad they've re-signed Bromby - he was good for us before, and if Blackwell thinks he will be losing Naughton it makes very good sense.
