When Stearman is back...

I've no problem at all with Jake on the bench. He's ideal for the job. A calming influence; a safe pair of hands.

I confess to more than a little surprise though, that people think the recent recruitment will not dislodge Jake from his starting place. Of course it will. He's only there now because RS got injured. Now we have two new recruits and RS to come back. The writing on the wall is ten feet high.

Do you not also think Bashams ariel shortcomings might mean he is also at risk?

And what is your take on our striker situation with 90 minutes to go to strengthen?

For all the praise of Basham and he has been excellent in the home games he was less than sound in both away games. He was badly at fault for 2/3 goals. People seem to be forgetting that. I think he has been great since Xmas by the way.

Agreed. He's played well since Jan, but he makes basic errors, such as heading the ball up in the air against Boro for their goal. I like Bash, but we'll be an improved side if he can be replaced.

I think they're both very much at risk mate. That doesn't mean I don't rate them or dislike them. I'm a fan of both. Just taking an objective view of circumstances as presented here and now.

Strikers: Seems Sinclair is out but where's he going? Where's Quina for that matter? Radio Silence (quite rightly in my view) from the club so maybe surprises to come. Looks like all our eggs are in the Cole bucket. According to El Accounto we've had three bids turned down today and it's who blinks first. I suspect the player will have his say so I believe that may still happen.

You do wonder why these things have to go to the eleventh hour. Perhaps Murdoch has made a substantial donation to enable Jim White Day to go all the way to the edge...

Correct. Big fan of Bash's since he moved into a back 3 and he offers us a bit going forward too. But, we need to keep improving and he is prone to an error or two.

After our 2 away defeats,CW identified that we were lacking in both boxes..which for me means we were poor when the ball's in the air,and outmuscled a bit..In my view the CCV and Heneghan signings have been made with this in mind,at least at the back..I can see Bash and Wright's places under threat as well as they've both performed, although like DB said above,Bash was at fault for the 2 Cardiff goals and at least partly at fault for the Boro goal with a weak header..other than that he has played really well, but I think Wright will be the first to make way for the lad from Spurs.
