With the addition of Heneghan and the lad from the Spuds does this signify the beginning of the end for Bashenbauer? Or are both new arrivals bench warmers to start.
Can't see Spuds letting us have their kid if he wasn't going to get a chunk of game time?

6 means cover for each position.

Think bash can potentially be the box to box midfielder if we require for certain game... obviously not signing anyone else for there despite being in for Leonard all summer.

I think CCV is highly rated - so I'd be excited to see him play.

We seem to certainly be covering each position. I think that Heneghan, like Lundstram, won't be a starter for now, unless we get injuries or suspensions.

we could just use basham cdm he plays best there

He plays far better where he is now. That's one thing that's not in doubt. Yes, his place is in danger as is that of Jake Wright, who will likely be moved on with deserved and enormous thanks in January. No sentimentality.

He will. Sorry to be repetitive but Wright will be replaced. You can bet on it.

I think Bash will ALWAYS have a place at the club, if he wants it.

Even if he doesn't play in the 1st team Mr Versatile is decent back up for so many positions.
Never really rated him as top quality but he's proved me wrong because so far he's looked comfortable at championship level.

We've gone from Cloughy buying everything but a centre-half (& banishing the ones we did have to the far reaches of Shirecliffe) to cramming the bench full of them.

Nevertheless we looked more solid a back three with Wright there rather than Stearman.

No we didn't. Stearman was just as good. Look, you can all cast sentimental votes for Jake Wright and think as wishfully as you like. He's not going to figure much going forward, just as I predicted about Done when everyone was saying how vital he was.

Tufty has now brought in three Centre-Backs at some expense. Sorry, they haven't come as cover for Jake.

For all the praise of Basham and he has been excellent in the home games he was less than sound in both away games. He was badly at fault for 2/3 goals. People seem to be forgetting that. I think he has been great since Xmas by the way.

Personally I think Wright is plenty good enough at the moment Pinch.
You don't?

I think he's just fine, mate. I also think Tufty believes we need better and hasn't brought three CBs in at significant expense to form a queue behind Jake Wright. When all are fit it will be Stearman, Heneghan and Jack the Hat.

What I do dislike is people disingenuously underrating Stearman simply because they have a personal (and a bit sentimental to be frank) preference for Wright.

I like Jake. He was great beyond all expectations last season and deserves enormous phrase. However, does anyone realistically think he's going to keep Stearman, Heneghan and even CCV out of the team. Not in the real world. Certainly the two permanent signings have been bought to play, not for the bench. Any thoughts to the contrary should be wished upon the nearest star.

I agree CCV will get game time for the reason I alluded to in the OP.
Henny,(my pet name for him which I'm trademarking) will be a work in progress which IMO still leave Jake with a minimum bench spot.
Quite concerned with the up top situation to be honest.
Goals win games.
On a par with Loose lips sink ships mate.

What have you got against Wright exactly?

Nothing at all. He's great. I just live in the real world and have no stars in my eyes about him. Why do you think Wilder has recruited and paid for three (yes 3) Centre-Backs since the start of the season. To play second and third fiddle to Jake Wright? No, of course not.

What have people got against Stearman? It doesn't matter in fact because Tufty has brought him in to be the main leader and organiser at the back and, when he's fit, he'll be doing exactly that.

I've no problem at all with Jake on the bench. He's ideal for the job. A calming influence; a safe pair of hands.

I confess to more than a little surprise though, that people think the recent recruitment will not dislodge Jake from his starting place. Of course it will. He's only there now because RS got injured. Now we have two new recruits and RS to come back. The writing on the wall is ten feet high.
