Wilder mention 1/2 before the weekend but that he still wanted 3/4 bodies.

How many do we think we'll get before Thursday?

We've added CCV and Presumably another 1 being the striker we've been touted (Sinclair?)

Before sat I wasn't convinced our midfield could operate and dominate against the very best in this division but Johnson, huddlestone et al didn't really get a look in. So i think that's less pressing unless there's a real baller to be had a coady or Irvine type we can get in.

So will there be any other bodies in? And would just one attacker with pace be the missing piece? Or is this the chance to go balls out and make an impact on the league with a couple of key signings?

I'm hoping after Sinclair for another 2, maybe another striker or experienced center mid, for some competition for Fleck.

Sinclair on loan, a midfielder permanently and an attacker probably permanently.

Not sure whether the attacker will be a target man type or a pacy player who can play wide.

Personally - I'd like to think we are working on something big/ambitious. Loans like Sinclair and CCV are presumably easier to complete than permanent signings as the club wants them to go somewhere.

The bids for lenihan and coady prove there's cash in reserve to make a good sized signing.

Be nice if we pulled off a coup with a classy CM like Irvine to add real competition. A big strong forward would also go down a treat imo. A zahore type would be ideal.

Might be wishful thinking but it sounds like wilder has been pushing budget wise and hopefully he's got something up his sleeve.

Spot on. My thoughts exactly.

1 on loan but McCabe will reassure us BRP will be doing his best to find investors to put money into the club before the JTW.

You never know, BRP might come to a game soon.

He won't spend a lot now if he intends selling this season ;)

Ian Bennett to return on loan.

Brooks to be sold at the last minute.

His replacement, Bruce Dyer, doesn't sign the paperwork in time and thus we miss out.

I hope we can get Hanson out as well, think he will struggle to get in the squad unless we have more injuries and nobody else is brought in, free up his wages.

I'm hoping it's very much like Gandolphs sleeve to be fair!!!!!!!
I once knew a girl tha.......................anyway.

Assuming that Fotherington-Thomas is our EEL upgrade, I think a genuine, first choice option upfront to partner Sir William is now an absolute priority. Someone like Coady would be a massive bonus as well given that the odds are Fleck and Coutts will be out with injury at some point. I'd like both to be permanent deals, then get another promising EPL kid in on loan who can play out wide.

In reality, if we get any of that I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Coady is on £8k a week at Wolves. We can afford it, but what price dressing-room harmony?

Surely the squad harmony is about he character of the players.

We don't have a fernando type agitating to be the highest paid player or fighting his team mates.

I think they'd understand someone coming in on decent/high wages if they pull their weight and buy into what we are trying to achieve.

Fully trust wilder on the score. Even the signings that haven't worked out haven't been effort or attitude related. It's been Lack of ability not lack of character.

This bloke is the best manager of many of our generations.

However many he wants should be how many we get.

For fucks sake Danny , can you stop posting comments I agree with ;)

Wilder is already pushing the likes of Bassett and Warnock into the shade when we're talking ' best managers ' in my lifetime and long may it continue .

On the question of new signings before deadline day I believe 2 will see CW reasonably appeh :)

The one position that's screaming out for an addition is obviously up front . We are literally down to the bare bones already and must strengthen .

At GK we have Moore to come back which means we look much stronger here .

Central defence is looking better now CCV is in . We also have good cover at both RWB and LWB .

The floating role so admirably filled by Duffy sees us with Brooks and Carruthers as cover so I'm happy with that .

Central midfield is an area where i believe we need to strengthen . Fleck and Coutts are immense there and quite rightly first names on the team sheet but where's the player chomping at the bit to adequately replace them ? And God forbid we lose one to injury

Sort upfront and central midfield out and id be a very happy man as they should be our top priorities . If we're feeling flush though and we've covered the two roles mentioned then why not bring a pacey winger who's comfortable on both flanks and a left sided central defender ? That's just me being a greedy fucker though :)

We're 5th in't League
We don't need anybody

Signed.........................................K McCabe

An ingenious way to bring negativity to a positive. Can we have a fax joke?

Three, by the way, including young C5. At least one of them for a substantial fee. All contingent on the selling clubs getting replacements, over which neither Tufty nor Kev have any control.

Some of our present players will already be earning as much as £8K a week.

In 2015-16 season at least 12 our players were on £5K or more a week. Dont know how many of the 12 players are still with us but our players got a 25% increase in wages after getting promotion

I can see Nathan Thomas being sent out on loan to give him some valuable game time.
Hanson being sold and hopefully Brayford being moved on.
Wilder will be looking to bring in a young central defender, box to box or more defensive midfield player and two strikers one of who can play wide.

Do you not think any of the current players are being paid this sort of money?

Wasn't there a double wage thing for for promotion for some players?

Anyway, I'd be very surprised if some of our senior players aren't on about 8K a week.

As for how many we'll get in, I think three.

Buy a striker, loan a striker, midfielder either loaned or bought.

There was talk about Brayford's wage doubling as he took a huge paycut to join us.

I think the ins are going to depend on the outs.

I think we'll bring in a midfielder (Leonard) and a striker (on loan).

If we sell Hanson or Brayford, or loan others, then I can see more coming in.

He can play up front. He won't and shouldn't be going anywhere now Lavery's injured. Hanson's leaving and there's talk Evans may be injured again too, so it's a non starter, certainly if we don't sign two strikers.
He's also the only natural winger we have in the squad. Lavery would've been a better candidate to go out on loan than him.

Cutting edge comedy as usual.....

My observations regarding Thomas are based upon us bringing two strikers in.
I have seen Thomas against Walsall and at least in that game he has a long way to go. Something he admitted 2/3 weeks ago, in my opinion he needs games.
