Simon Moore should retain his place. His marshalling of the defence and ability to communicate is an important asset when the captain is a forward.
And nothing against Blackman who has performed very well for the most part, but Moore can also kick the ball straight.

I'd keep Jamal in unless he gets injured or he starts making a load of mistakes. He's done well for me, kicking is a bit weird but it's not dangerously bad. He's also becoming a bit more decisive.

Would be harsh on him to just put him on the bench as soon as Moore is back. Moore will have to earn his position or Blackman lose it.

I was going to say exactly this, it sends out the wrong message. Blackman has done nothing to warrant being dropped, if you perform you keep the shirt, simple as that. I'd hate for us to have 'favourites' who play regardless, let Wednesday stick to that sort of policy.

Blackman's distribution in the first half on saturday was appalling (not much better in the other games either). He needs to improve this area of his game significantly but if he does that then I'd be happy to keep him in goal because he's good at handling crosses and making saves.

No clangers, but his kicking can be improved. Moore is clearly way ahead in key areas, as you'd expect for a keeper with much more experience, but Blackman has been very good so far.

Blackmans kicking is absolutely awful. Will cost us a goal or two at some point if he stays in.

He's pulled off some good saves but done nothing (partly because of lack of opportunity) to make me think he's better than Moore. His distribution is shocking and he's very hesitant in and around the box. I also put a lot of value in Moore's communication and organisation.

The only message that bringing Moore back in would send is that the better players get picked first.

A keeper's major role is to keep the ball out of the net. Always has been; Always will be. Kicking is way down the list of priorities. Does it score points on computer games or something?

It's far from an easy decision. Blackman has done very well. If Eastwood had come in and done as well the Bladey Boybanders would be advocating a twenty year contract on £50k a day.

I think Blackman looks very uncertain and I fear it's only a matter of time before he costs us dearly. His kicking is poor - we've all seen that- but it's his hesitation that concerns me more. Against Derby he passed the ball out to our defenders on a few occasions when they were in poor positions to receive it and put them under unnecessary pressure. He's done some brilliant reflex saves but so did George Long. I think he's suspect and whilst no goalie is perfect I think the sooner Moore is back the better. But I suppose we will have to wait until he screws up major league before that happens?
