I live near Hull, at one point Jerome was on the verge of signing for city and was having final discussions. He went off to get some lunch and never came back. Turned out he had had a call from Blackburn and got better terms. Very mercenary and he hasn't really pulled up any trees at any of his clubs.

Only time I'm aware of was where Cardiff rejected a several bids for him from us in early 2006, prompting Warnock to go after Akinbiyi/Horsfield instead.

If Waghorn and Marriott actually go for Derby I'd guess that puts Jerome well down the pecking order there. Would he be worth taking a punt on?

Getting on a bit so hardly helps us lower the average age of our attack but he'd be a different option offering up some pace and competition for Sharp Clarke and McGoldrick. On the last year of his contract and cost Derby an alleged 1.5m last year so they might be willing to let him go fairly cheap or on loan (also if it was a toss up between him and Nugent I know who I'd choose).

I think at the very least he's an improvement on the likes of Donaldson, Lavery etc and has top end Championship experience so might appeal to Wilder on that front.

Please God no, Jerome is crap, a forward who doesn't score goals or add anything to any team he has ever played for. It has amazed me how he has ever made a career out of playing football, he can't even run straight without tripping over his own feet. And he is too old.

He's a better option than Jon Walters but I still prefer Leon to both of them. Would prefer someone younger if possible, who we might be ableto sign permanently and someone to develop i.e Fletcher or similar.
