I think this is my favourite aspect of Chris Wilder's Sheffield United.

When we're 1-0 up we're looking for the second goal.

Against Barnsley we're winning and suffered a red card but both our substitutes are attack minded and we're still throwing men forward.

Yes we have to play differently away from home but at home we're going for the jugular and it's fantastic to watch.

After years of negative managers like Clough, it's great to have one that goes all
out to win.

Its also the lack of fear and fluency with our play, we get the ball forward so quickly its a joy to watch.

I'll always treasure the wonderful memories Clough brought us with the cup runs, but this is something else. We do have some very solid defenders which make this possible of course.

Agree,

Although the last 15 minutes against Brentford we decided to sit back and shut up shop.
Always makes me nervous when we sit back inviting pressure.

We totally dominated Barnsley and should have been 3-0 up but this time for the last 5-10 minutes we decided to sit back
And soak up the pressure.

Fortunately we held out in both matches defending really well but it's not good for the nerves.

My favourite player is Duffy, he's a joy to watch, cant believe such a classy player isn't more well known nationally.

Fuck Brians Lad. The most overrated individual in footballl. And that big nosed pig Colin can fuck off too.

Thank You Chris Wilder. The best manager we ever had (in recent decades), I love you.

Blades Fan Neil Warnock has four more promotions than Chris Wilder and is leading our division with his current club. Dave Bassett is the best manager we have had in recent decades and also has four more promotions than Wilder.

I "love" all three of them and don't feel the need to denigrate our only previously successful managers because our current manager is doing well.

Good for you young man.

Well I do. Because I know superiority when I see it, and I know my clubs history. What a shame you don't.

An FA Cup Semi Final and a League Cup semi final, rescuing us from a relegation battle to league two (winning seven straight games in the process) and that's what he gets in return?

Yes the football was dire at times, and he bought some crap and didn't get us up, certainly not uniquely bad in that respect but he does deserve some ******* respect not abuse.

Recently he's got frigging Burton to the championship and kept them there, quite an achievement.

You mean Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink got them to the Championship?

No I mean Clough. He finished the job and got them over the line, didn't bottle it. I'm not sure JFH would have kept them in the Championship though he deserves an awful lot of credit of course

Aww bless Brians Lads little minions., it's so cute.

How many points for a cup final again?

Exactly.

Run along.

I agree with your point about not giving Clough the abuse he seems to get.

However, he did do his best to fuck up Burton's promotion!

So if he had taken us to the Champions League Final and we lost he shouldn't have deserved any credit?

Play the post not the poster, no need to be insulting/patronising it doesn't do you any good :)

I do know our club's history. Shame you choose to ignore it, old boy.
If Wilder gets us promoted out of the Championship, he will eclipse Warnock.
If he does that and then keeps us in the top flight for four seasons, he will better even Bassett.
Wilder is a Blades fan and even he would acknowledge and accept that he's currently third in the post-70's achievement rankings.
I think you might be confusing facts and logic with personal abuse (again)

He wouldn't have got that far my dear. Sorry to break it to you, but he's a fucking charlatan trading off a famous surname.

When my club plays against Burton, I'll be cheering on the Blades. It's a pity you Clough cultists won't be joining me, but hey ho.

But you just implied that good cup runs don't get you any credit didn't you? Quite a charlatan keeping Burton in the Championship I must say.

Then you go on to claim (or 'joke') that I will support Burton over the Blades. Crackers.

The Champions League final is ever so slightly more difficult to get to than a semi final of the two English competitions.

Wilder will serve Sheffield United with no ulterior motive, unlike the previous scumbag Neil Warnock.
I'm happy to explain what I mean but you'd also do well to do your own research.

Here's a clue: November 2005....

This is so obviously true but what he said was:

'How many points for a cup final again?

Exactly.'

Last time I checked the Champions League Final is a cup final

Well....it's your dilemma, not mine.

Fuck Clough.

Bassett and Warnock have more promotions than Mourinho, Wenger and Ferguson

Promotions are one thing
But getting us to the Premier League and keeping us there would mean that Wilder couldn't possibly win as many promotions as Bassett and Warnock

Wilder would then be a better manager even though he had less promotions

Wilders 3rd behind who ?

The most consistently attacking mind set in my time of watching United, we have had brief flashes, Under Spackman for three months, the triple assault season of 2002-2003 under Warnock

..but at the moment it feels like the verge of something great.

I was a Wilder sceptic when he got the job, never been so delighted to have been wrong about anything.

You talk as though this hadnt ever been discussed before:-

My illusions of Warnock were shattered in 2005/06 when we were pissing the league and he tried to fuck off to Portsmouth after spitting the dummy out over his contract, thereby almost sabotaging our season.

Great manager as he was, and how I would love somebody like him here now, but 'Mr Sheffield United' he ain't.

You mean when he turned down the opportunity to double his wages and manage an already established Premiership club?
With a wage bill and transfer kitty far in excess of ours? Most managers would have jumped at the chance (e.g. Steve Bruce, Howard Kendall).
For a manager with no emotional ties to the club, it would have been an easy decision to leave and go to Portsmouth.
If he hadn't been "Mr Sheffield United" he would probably have left then and nobody could have argued that he hadn't left us in fine shape.

I know perfectly well what you mean.
You think that because you personally dislike someone, this lessens their achievements as a manager.
It doesn't.

Erm, it's a personal view. That's how football forums work.

Anyway, I hope that Colins one achievement in 7 years keeps you warm at night. He never planned to stay that long after all.

Happy to help.
