Fantastic today, it was like watching Kevin McDonald at his best. Fleck and Duffy fabulous too but Coutts ran the game and was an absolute joy to watch. UTB
He's been running games for some time.

Just takes a few of our fans a bit longer than others to come to terms with it ;)

And it really is a case of the sum being greater than the individual parts when you consider his Scottish brethren.

Joyous.

UTB

Also worthy of mentions. That last second tackle by Fleck tracking back when Derby were one on one with the keeper just before half time prevented a certain goal. Stevens had a good game ran his socks off and that scoop ball by Freeman first half was class.

If he plays like this while January we'll struggle to keep him. Especially if he starts adding goals to his game, that would make him the complete premier league package.

Yes, he's that good.

You're a WUM, and not a very good one

Go forth and multiply

(See Billy Sharp thread ;) )

Haha, seen it pal.
Unfortunately I wish I was in this case but I'm not. Coutts hasn't had a bad game so far and we've played the best side in the league on form and in terms of squad power away from home.

You can make an argument for him being MOTM in every game.

He's a fabulous footballer and is flourishing at this level as I knew he would.

I seldom have a favourite player but he has to be mine. I've maintained for a while that he's technically the best football at the club.

The comparisons to Kevin McDonald don't work for me. He's twice the player McDonald is or ever was for us. When he first arrived under Clough I would have hardly believed that but since the middle of last season he's gone way beyond McDonald's performance levels.

Coutts may well be the most underrated player in the Championship.

I remember when he first joined and people near me used to groan and whine at every missed pass he did. It wasn't that he was shit, it was that he was about 5 or 6 seconds ahead of his teammates so it looked like misplaced passes, when in fact, his colleagues were just Wank.

To be fair to Nigel quite a few of his signings were great, it was just the terrible negative football that did for him. UTB
He also made some terrible signings. Higdon! Mceverly! Wallaces (both)! Brayford (good player but not worth the transfer fee or wages) and don't forget Coutts was injured for the first 18 months of his contract plus a few others I can't now remember thank God. Was Sammon one of his?

I hate to break it to you Patrick, but Pinchy has applauded Coutts since he came here, even when many of us failed to see the footballer that simmered underneath.

Then pinchy saw something I didn't as well. I was very critical of Coutts when he first arrived. He looked completely lost at first, admittedly I recall he had just come back from a long injury at his previous club.

That injury must have had some impact because he's developed into an unbelievable footballer that can control a game almost on his own. I'm delighted he's proved me wrong.

I don't subscribe to being right or wrong mate, all that matters is that the players we sign do their best, in Coutts' case it means we have a class orchestrator in midfield.

Absolute joy watching 3 quality midfielders led by Coutts totally dominate the game today...bursting with pride at the moment and not ashamed to admit it, that something good from last year is carrying on, well done Blades and most important Wilder/Knill

Absolutely mate. The pride and passion were there and it was pride in and passion for really good football. The atmosphere (created exclusively by us Blades) was electric. I've not known the Lane crowd as persistently loud for a very long time. Definitely inspiring our lads and intimidating the opposition.

You are perfectly justified in bursting with pride. There's something special happening at our club.

I ❤️ Tufty and One Knill.

Ah, Higdon! Made captain in his first-ever game for the Blades. An Adkins/Hammond 'you scratch my back' stitch up. Talking of which...

Was Sammon one of his?

No Sammon was signed by that other lamentable twat Adkins. The 'manager' who made Coutts look terrible. Surprising what a good manager like CW can do with players.
