Can't see any major signings before Saturdays game myself,

If we get players in before the window closes then we have the international break before the next match to get them ready.

It isn't. Why do people glibly accept that a hack reporter knows better than our manager...

Well he "thinks" and isn't sure so he has a reverse out of the latest scoop if needed.

Well someone thinks a medical has taken pace at Shirecliff today so hopefully something will happen

Spit me tea out.

Just got it planned in advance. Lost two close mates recently and saw the pain their families went through trying to sort out service details. I've written my own eulogy (I'm a crackin bloke) arranged non religious person to do service, songs on disc ready and order of service ready to print, just needs date putting in
Glad you're feelin better pal, suppose the drink and snap not appenin then :-)

Great planning ... Looking for a hit man to start the ball rolling???

Maybe Wilder has met the player, and agreed everything in principle. But is waiting on the board to sanction it as always.
Hence why he's made a remark so that the board are under pressure to pick up the pace a bit to get it done. I said the other day that Clarke getting sent off may be a help....and the apparent lack of fitness of Evans, and Lavery looking unlikely to make much of an impact could well have opened the eyes of the board as to the urgency with the window approaching to close.

Just a thought.

Doesn't seem wilder style to bullshit imo he's always been pretty honest, seems an odd one to tell RS that one is deffo gonna be done before Saturday if it isn't

Funny, earlier this week the contract hadn't been signed because CW wasn't happy with the boards backing despite him not saying or even alluding to that being the case. Grumbles that the board are taking him for granted and we're going to lose him. CW & AK then confirm they've been signed.
Next, Brooks is leaving because he's had a couple of good games, we've not offered him a new deal (boards fault) and he's going. It's revealed that he's signed a new deal weeks ago.
Wilder talks about making signings and that means he's putting pressure on the board because they arent backing him again this is despite him not saying anything to support that view.
We've also had accusations that signing players from the lower leagues is down to our board not supporting our manager. This flying in the face of several CW comments around the players he wants, hungry players with something to prove, proven leaders etc etc.

When the new players do sign it will be that they would have joined us in July if the board hadn't dragged their feet and CW isn't happy, or that he couldn't get his top targets (Coady, Murphy etc).
Talk about reframing the story to confirm your bias.

I would love it to be Colin Quaner. The way he ripped the pigs a new one in the playoffs he showed exactly the attributes we’re lacking. Pace, power, height, direct running. He’d really add something different to our squad.

Quaner started last night for Town in the league cup and came off the bench in both of their PL games. I can't see them letting him go and to be honest he won't score goals, based on his record. He can come off the bench run around like made, run into the channels and hold the ball up but he won't score any goals. H'es probably still viable to Town in that role but I think we need a bit more of a goal threat.

He might not be realistic unless udders add more firepower. But personally I still think he'd be an excellent upgrade on the role Matt Done played for a chunk of last season stretching teams, driving us up the pitch meaning we're on the front foot much more in games

Or maybe the journalist is full of sh1t.

Much better with his Black and White live performance. What a line up that was male background vocalists, some of whom also joined in on guitar, were Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther and Steven Soles. The female background vocalists were k.d. lang, Jennifer Warnes and Bonnie Raitt.

Exit music at my funeral along with john Denver

I stopped reading at Tom Waits, a sudden bout of depression hit me ;)

Not wishing to be too pedantic but are we talking signings or loans

I think it's obvious there are no leaks at United these days . None of our transfers have been mentioned until a few days before they've signed when the deals are almost complete. The Journalists seen as clueless as the Twitter posters to be honest

Jerome Sinclair. Apparently deal done last night and in squad for today. I'll believe it when I see it.

Where have you read that?

They have to be registered by 12pm on Friday to play on Saturday I think.

On twitter, think it was that Darren guy who tweeted it. It's probably rubbish, that's why I'll believe it when I see it. If everything was sorted pre 12pm yesterday then there would of been something on club website you'd of thought.

The only time I remember something similar is turning up and wonder who the feck Kevin McDonald was.

Darren seems very confident we are signing him. Says he's on 60k p/w at Watford though, which is staggering. If that's true then he better be good, and he better not be a dickhead. Wouldn't imagine we'd be paying more than 15k of it but having someone earning that money in our squad would be a bit of a risk, and removed from the sort of player we'd usually bring in.

He also says we're bringing in another striker next week, someone more experienced on a permanent deal, along with a midfielder. I'm not sure on the striker, because we'd be signing no wide player in that case - don't think Sinclair really plays out wide.
