We're not usually known for busy deadline days, but this season could be a little different. We seem like we are waiting until the very last minute on Leonard/Lenihan maybe in hope that the clubs will change their asking prices and accept what we've already laid down.

Could we be in for a busy deadline day?

I hope not. I normally avoid the bollocks that is Jim White, safe in the knowledge that I'll miss nowt significant regarding the Blades.

There will be lots iof angst, hysteria , fake anger and " I told you so's"

Anyhow, I'm more worried about what I read this morning that Wilder will be sacked by Christmas. And from the bloke who guaranteed Duffy would be sold last January. Thank God he doesn't seem to have heard of Brooks!

Worrying times. ....

I imagine it'll be like of those days where you mildly need a shit at midday but you know that if you go the toilet it just won't happen so you leave it although there's this constant nagging feeling that you need a shit, so you eventually go and guess what, you can't shit and then 4 attempts later you manage to squeeze the tiniest shit out and you name it Jonathan Forte, but you don't touch the trouble maker.

Fetishes aside......., I'm saying NO.

I think you need to see a Doctor....

And a therapist :-)

I quite like to watch SSN on deadline day evening to be honest, except for the bellends thinking they're being funny and original in the background when they are doing the reports. I keep hoping one of the reporters is going to go utterly fucking postal on them.

You're on Hemerrhoid Highway there, it's a long and painful road.

That could be the difference between a decent season and a struggle

Setting up the team for next season also starts now, not next August

I'm disappointed JL94x4, given your track record I thought that a mate of a mate would have given you the lowdown on which of our key players we are going to sell for next to nothing......

Well, I just got news in that Hanson's off..

Thats an S24SU Exclusive isn't it? Nobody else has heard this.

The rumour mill will spinn on this interview today

But Wilder wants to strengthen further as United continue to get to grips with the Championship after six years away. “We won’t bring anyone in before the Cup game but we are confident something might be happening before the weekend,” said the Bramall Lane chief today. “We are waiting on other clubs to do business that frees up players. To allow them to go out either permanently or on loan.
“I would imagine a lot of Championship managers are in the same position and it will all ramp up close to the deadline. It is incredible how that always seems to happen but it is how this window works.”

When was the last time Sheffield United actually had a 'busy deadline day'?

Have we ever even had one?

And if we have I'm surmising from our point of view it would've been a negative one i.e. our better players sold on rather than better players coming in?!?

chuck in a striker and I'd say we'd have a decent chance of play-offs.

I hate deadline day. Traditionally, it's end of summer sales at BDBL

There will be no struggle, with or without additions. There will be additions, though.

I'm just pleased I've not seen a fax machine joke on this thread, yet.

I don't think we are waiting till the very last minute on anyone, by choice. I think we are stuck in a bottleneck that won't start to clear until nearer to the closing of the transfer window. One deal sparks another and there's always a lot of late activity, cascading down from the Prem - because they have to ensure their squads of 25 players don't contain more than 17 non-home grown players and the squad list of 25 has to be in with the FA the following day after the transfer window closes.

I think we'll make possibly one signing, which I hope is Lenihan, and bring in two more on loan, which I hope are young players with pace and power.

Deane, Fjortoft and Agana all took place around deadline day didn't they? I may be wrong, but that was the fire sales of all fire sales for me.
