We've played 3 teams who will all at least be chasing the play offs 2 away from home and held our own with a bit more quality finishing and decisons we would have had 4/5 pts. A few quality signings and we will be fine plus brooks and sharp UTBB !

Brentford won't be chasing a play off spot IMO

Cardiff have started well but I don't think they will be in the reckoning come next May

Middlesboro might be

We expected a tough season and it looks like that's what we're going to get.

This division is tough but we won't be playing a Boro every week, and even if we were we'd have a different linesman for it.
We'll strengthen, We'll play lesser teams, we will find our feet and we will get some momentum.
I still think we will finish in the top half personally.

I think Cardiff will be but am beginning to agree with you on Brentford given their start. Mid-table at best I think for them.

Problem is I don't see any of these signings happening

All very well but what's this shit got to do with a nice Chili?
Not too heavy on the RK Beans for me, but a nice hint of Cumin in the background is very pleasant.

I don't like the beans.

Cumin is essential in a good Chili. One needs more spices that simply chili powder to give it a good strength in depth. Now what was this thread about again?

Something doesn't seem quite right down at Griffin Park. They lost McEachran the other night to quite a bad injury and conceded in the last minute. I've never been convinced by Benham's statistical analyses and I wonder if he puts too much stock in it. They got promoted primarily because they had a good manager in Warburton and spent some money.
Smith is starting to look a bit like Rosler, gets them playing nice football but without that killer edge.

I always rated Smith at Walsall and was banging the drum for him to be appointed here when we went for funny little Nigel. Personally, I still think he's a good manager. I don't think mid-table would be bad for Brentford either. They've done good business over recent years getting large fees for the likes of Gray and Hogan. Whilst their budget is undoubtedly bigger than some in this division, they won't be in the top 8 or 9 spenders so realistically a mid-table finish is probably about right for them.
