Whilst I think we have the basis of a good squad for this league we are too lightweight and it would appear from the evidence so far, devoid of a serious attacking threat.
CW will get this sorted I'm sure, but until he does it's going to be tough to achieve results amongst the top half teams in this division.

no problem we're not top half

did you expect us to be?
I expected us to have more of the game in the last two fixtures, more threat, more energy at times....but it is early days...maybe expecting more than possible at this stage..

I agree they need to back CW with some serious money

i think so.. we're not used to sides pressuring us.. normally they run on and set up 10-0-0

It's not CW we need to be concerned about, instead you should ask why KM and The Prince haven't enabled Wilder to bring in the quality we need?

To remain in this division will cost.....go ask the directors what they intend to do.
perhaps they wanted to evaluate first but i agree we need a plan b

No need for panic.
Both defeats very tough away fixtures early on.

But, like most have said there are doubts over what our forwards bring to the team in this division. If they create chances for them then they will generally put them away, but seems they will have to bring more to the game than running around a little up top to allow others the ground to create.

I'm sure Wilder and Knill will sort it....plus the concern over Stearman injury adds another question mark about the squad.
We all know we are trying to bring more players in, but until we sign that pace and power up front we look light up front and now light at centre half.

Wilder has not been given enough money to recruit effectively for this league.

Of our outfield players tonight, the only newcomers - Stearman and Stevens.

If you'd have told me at the end of last season that would be the case I would've been pretty annoyed.

And you know this how? Or are you just making a presumption because we haven't blown millions on a single player?

It's not an unrealistic assumption to make given we haven't yet signed a number of our supposed key targets - to the detriment of the team.

Might be wilders call but I believe he'd have liked some more business done by now. He's identified 3 positions we are short in.

But assumption all the same is the point I am making.

Money doesn't always equal success as we see time and again.

I may be wrong, but Wilder has already been out and said that he wouldn't hesitate to go elsewhere if he didn't feel that he had control of things as he wants it.
The issue in not signing certain players that we have wanted is more to do with the mantra of refusing to pay beyond what the management team think is a realistic value for said player.
I do believe in an interview pre season that Wilder did say something along the lines of acknowledging this policy may have cost us players already.

Anyway, it could be worse. We could have blown a shit tonne of cash on aging never beens and still be without a win.

3 games. 1 v top 10 side, 1 v relegated premier league side 1 v team on the up managed by a man who knows this division inside out. We have 3 points. We could have had 4 for a daft arse linesman. Lets take a step back here and think did we really think it would be easy? Seriously? Realistically we have to look at it from a point of view that we could blow loads of money and get relegated - leaving us in a shit storm for next season or we could spend a little see how we go and if need be bring in reenforcements. Do I think we will go down? No but I would be happy finishing 5th bottom and building then splurging on expensive championship premiership has beens. Lets give it time.

No need to panic - we have lost to two of the best sides in this league. There is no shame in that. If we'd lost to Burton and Milwall then I'd be more worried.

But the board really need to support Wilder to get a bit more championship quality through the door. Stearman alone is not enough. All good sides need to kick on - and improve year upon year - not sure we have as yet.
