Let's be honest. Ched Evans looked like a headless chicken coming on against Middlesbrough this evening. Why is he back here? Is it really an arrangement through MaCabe or, as he claimed, really Wilder's choice? If the latter, why? If the former, shouldn't it be made explicit?

He came on and looked more lively than Billy.

Boro stopped a lot of our attacks probably because we insist on cutting back on ourselves rather than getting the ball in the box first time.

Its not like any of strikers saw that much of the ball during the match.

I think weasel, if you reflect or are capable of reflection, Billy Sharp may well feel disappointed by the lack of service he received today, and then being substituted by someone who offered little by way of alternative game plan, may well fell utterly pissed off - won't he?

Let's be honest. Why are you talking such bollox especially at this time of night? Do yourself a favour and get some shut eye. Nighty night.

He was no better or worse thqm Sharp in that game, zero service.

Shame Lavery wasn't selected, I think he is getting a bit of a raw deal at the moment as he is the one forward who can do that bit different and create a chance for himself.

So many questions.

The truth?....You're fishing mate.

Hang on, wasn't Cheds performance against chesterfield, supposed to herald "the second coming".....in the eyes of a few he can do no wrong...the uncomfortable truth is he's no better and I think worse that Billy and Leon...

If Ched is selected, or for that matter whoever has the shirt, perhaps we should look at the situation ten games in . Far too early IMO to judge. I can say with the utmost confidence that we won't be the only away team to lose against Middlesborough at their place.

Another good show from Ched for me, picked the game up from coming on and if the service was coming, who knows, Brooks did well, obviously he's coming on and will get better with time. Look at the first 4 games last year, the glimmers there already, the spark n ignition isnt far away, a couple of quality additions, abit of wilder/knill magic and a quick stir, I'm happy we will be in the top 15 n safe this season, I'm sure most of us will be happy with that come may if were honest!!
Oh and the ops talking shit.

Our strikers got very little service from a midfield that was penned back for the majority of the time so the truth is none of them looked very good at all. Sharp was woeful and our lack of pace was once again frighteningly obvious.

If anyone was the headless chicken it was Carruthers...we had far more shape when Duffy came on.

I think we would have been better off putting Brookes on for Sharp IMO and playing him just behind Clarke creating the link with midfield.

To go back to Evans he did far more than Sharp....is Billys place under threat...maybe?

Lincoln blade the truth

He is no better a poster than any one else in here .He brought nothing to the argument and is very one dimensional. Is he really here to talk about the game or just a wum

Ched was probably the better of the three strikers and worked hard when he came on. He gave us a lift

Clarke was very hit and miss, I'd have liked Ched to come in early for Clarke.

Billy got nothing at all today.

It probably wasn't a game for two strikers when the midfield was getting overrun like that

No, I wouldn't have thought so. That just seems mental to me.

I'm a big Duffy fan, but don't think he was great when he came on.

Do agree with you that the midfield was pushed back for the majority of the match. When Coutts was getting the ball, he was basically in line with the center backs. With their closing, it was then impossible to get it up to the strikers.

Simple fact is were to good for league one, but we need abit of polishing to shine in the championship. There's a reason players cost more at this level.

There were positives to take from the game ,we didn't move the ball quick enough and movement off the ball was a bit sluggish.
After boro scored they pushed on to us giving us no time on the ball.It was a shock to the system and we need to fine tune our midfield.
We need so pace up front as boro pushed up knowing we lacked that.
It's early doors yet and we are on big learning curve Wilder I'm sure will remedy some of the weaknesses.
Having said all that they wernt that much better than us the goal was a cock up which could have been avoided. Our equaliser should have stood we were robbed.

As much as I've been vocal about Ched in that past, Billy Sharp touched the ball less than anyone on the pitch last night shortly followed by Leon Clarke.

Clearly we didn't provide the strikers with any service.
