Season tickets?

Like having the owner 'sponsor' the shirts and stand?

And half of the, er, 'executive' boxes.

I've just been told he is doing an '1867 club' where you pay £1500-£2000 for 3 years of season tickets and also get 3 years free Prem tickets IF they go up.

Sounds like he's desperate to get some extra income in, to beat the FFP restrictions.

Were I a pig, I wouldn't trust him to still be there to honour the deal. No promotion this season and I reckon the Dolphin Killer will be off.

Unbelievable.

It'd be interesting (sorry, hilarious) to see what happened if they did go up and then straight back down. Do the other 2 years roll over for when and if they return? They've been absent for almost 20 years since the last time they dropped down.

"Championship clubs can post losses of no more than £39m over a rolling three-year period."

This is the typical boom and bust approach we've come to expect from the clueless and classsless across the city. FFP is here for a reason, do they really think that this is a good idea? It sounds like they have lost £39m over the last 3 seasons, if they don't gain success soon what will happen to the debt they have?

The words 'carpet' 'brush' and 'under' spring to mind.

It would concern you if you had the long term survival of the club at heart (like maybe McCabe, Steve Gibson, Delia, Peter Coates etc).

If you are just in it for the glory of the Prem, (think Cellino, Dolphin Killer, Vincent Tan, Venkys etc) then you can always move on to the next plaything.

What is the final number we have sold?
I suspect the club would say they are still on sale, technically. Maybe we will hear something at the end of the month when it'd cost more to buy a season ticket than individual tickets for the remaining games.

dont get me started my old season ticket didnt work on saturday and my new one arrived in the post monday well played united

Don't worry - I'm sure you will have been counted in the attendance figure (even if you didn't actually get in!) :)

The stewards were just letting season ticket holders in, proper shambles, they'll blame it on the new system, well if the IT Project had been managed well they would have done a test like it in a test environment before implementing it in a live system at possibly the busiest time of the season for the ticket office

I haven't had a new season card, despite changing price (one of the great benefits of becoming an old fart). The old season card worked fine on Saturday.

No sign of the concession turnstiles and ID checks on Saturday.....???

You're making the deal sound better than it is. You only get 3 season tickets if they're in the Prem. Your £1500-£2000 gets you a plaque on your seat.
Collection buckets at the New York stadium is the next plan.

Turnstiles or steward checks (what form did it take if so)

There's been steward checks on the other side of the turnstile in the corner stand every match for a while now.

I've been going as a concession for quite a while now and have never been checked once at any stand, think it just depends which steward it is and if he can be arsed.

How old are you, 24?

Which stand did you go in Saturday?
Which stands did you go into last season?

I was in the Kop on Saturday, my first visit in years and there was a steward on the other side checking the lights.

I've been in most parts of the ground last season, mainly corner stand and sometimes John Street stand and there's always been stewards on the other side of the turnstiles there too.

Just noticed that you recently posted that you've lived in America the past 2 years. So assume you're talking historically, I agree there was an issue a few years ago but for the past 4 years (I think) there's been stewarding in the corner stand and John Street specifically to check the lights on the turnstiles. Don't think they bother if you're close the kids age, as long a you look young you might be OK.
