None of that reveals your motivation for a very odd contribution. I thought you could enlighten us. There are others apart from me who would like to know. That's all.

My motivation is that I was told some info and I thought I would share it, it is a Blades forum isn't it? Sorry if it was the wrong move and it has led to our demise on Saturday.

Forget others for now, I'm talking to you and the word odd seems very appropriate in your case.

No. It means he's rubbish. Other clubs always know best and always speak the truth. All of them.

I get that's how it's intended in the context of that phrase but based on the dictionary definition, desist means the same as cease. I know it's a common phrase and wasn't pulling you up on it. It was a general comment about the redundancy/ inaccuracy of the phrase itself.

No i didn't. Your wrong (again). I simply stated my observation that if there was to be a comparing of the size of ego's then the other poster would be doomed to failure. Your's is the size of Brighton peer. Egotistical but not much substance, as usual. Say a lot....but actually say fuk all. That's about the sum of your parts. Still you keep dreaming sunshine. A legend in your own head but no one else's.
Oh dear ;)

Could he be unvieled before kick-off like Lundstrum!??

Absolutely 100% NOT the sort of player Wilder is looking for.

On the basis that JG might be a crock of shite now and be too old (he's 29), too slow (maybe injuries have caught up with him) or be a disruptive influence in the dressing room (I've no idea of he is or isn't) then you could very well be right that CW would have no interest in this lad. Certainly I havent read or heard anything to suggest that he is or has been in the past. Hes also moved to Ipswich this pre season for a million so he may also have poor value for money as a transfer target.

I was purely stating that imo he would have been a potentially decent player for us at the Lane. You disagree, fair enough. I on the other hand thought he looked a decent player when he was with Preston and scored nearly 50 goals in the championship in about 130 games. Not a bad ratio. Big Mick (he who many on here think is a good manager - me included) obviously thinks he is worth a punt.

So when you state that 'absolutely 100% NOT the sort of player Wilder is looking for', can I ask how do you know this cos that is a pretty emphatic statement to make. What 'sort' is CW looking for and when did he say this to the press or to you direct ? I myself think he may be looking for a player with a bit of pace up front...but I don't know for certain cos I don't recall CW specifically stating this anywhere? I only remember reading that he was 'looking for one up top'. If in was a betting man I would think that he is after a player with a bit more pace as that is what we probably need. But i don't know for sure that that is what CW believes also.

Maybe you are CW in which case you clearly know all his exact transfer targets.

Or was that pretty emphatic sweeping statement you made just a case of what you think rather than what you have heard? Genuinely interested.

Well, they haven't had a very good start. They lost, Lenihan got booked and that blummin Ryan Leonard geezer scored against them.

Two heir posts:

"Looks like he's broken his foot so he won't be going until the January transfer window".

" He's a defensive midfielder not a CH. He's not good in the air. He's poor can we take Sheffield United's money now."

Our negotiators Plan B seems to involve waiting and gradually increasing bids more in hope of getting a deal than expectation. Meanwhile one target gets injured and another increases his value to his club whilst potentially attracting interest elsewhere. We will shortly need Plan C which will be waiting until January "to assess where we are". Realistically, where we are is bidding for players we presently can't afford and hoping that the other club's need for cash or contractually wasting asset forces their hand.

Why does Leonard s value go up he is still in league one scored goals before not unknown for midfielders to get the odd goal (scored at the lane remember ? ) also there player of the year more than once his value will be unchanged unless other clubs join an auction

his value to his club

No change there in fact the closer it gets to deadline day the less he is worth,as in January his value will drop conciderably

Normally your statement would be correct but the Southend chairman perhaps isn't normal. He is putting all of his eggs into one basket where Leonard is concerned, hoping and praying for promotion, the only way that Leonard might just stay at Roots Hall. So the fact that Leonards value will drop considerably is a gamble he is prepared to take, nullifying your point.

Lenihan

I nicked the quotes from another poster (longshortandtall) here's is full post from BM:

Blackburn fans comments yesterday about Lenighan's performance;

" He's a defensive midfielder not a CH. He's not good in the air. He's poor can we take Sheffield United's money now.

Looks like he's broken his foot so he won't be going until the January transfer window".

Mood on Blackburn fans forum as dark as the Pigs welcome to League 1 fancy losing to tinpot Southend.

Seems we may have to move on from him because of the injury. Had my doubts about how much he was going to cost anyway in view his short career to date. We need cover at CH so will be interesting who we go for.

Mr Leonard on the other hand scored 1 of the goals for Southend back to his committed best. We need to get him in before the transfer window closes.
