Just listening to Talksport.
Adrian Durham is giving his co presenter a quiz on Yorkshire to check his preferences.

Daren Gough was asked the question 'Sheffield United or Sheffield Wednesday"

His reply was "I'm going to upset some people here but I'll choose United"
Durham replied enthusuastically "good man, any particular reason"

Goughy replied he used to have a good friend who was a Unitedite and he occasionally used to go to Bramall Lane with him. Goughy said he should choose Wednesday because of the David Hirst connection but he'll stick with United.

Adrian Durham declared that he used to live very close to Bramall Lane and he said its got loads of fantastic pubs, is close to the city centre and is just a much better area for the football fan compared to Hillsboro, no brainer really.

Must have been painful listening for Wednesdayites knowing they aren't as popular amongst neutrals as they think ha ha.

Don't worry Desso haired Piggy Vaughan will level it up next time he's on TMS. The boring twat.

It is a no-brainer really but it's a sad reflection on Sheffield that half the population has no brains.

The majority of the football fans must surely agree, a far better away day for em. Well apart from the result ;)

As much shit as Durham spouts (and I realise it is because he wants to create a reaction amongst the average listener) he definitely has a soft spot for us - heard him say so on many occasions.

In fact in my experience, the only batch of 'neutral' supporters who seem on the whole to prefer Wednesday to us, in my experience is Forest. Which given they are the 2nd most deluded set of soft twats on the planet speaks volumes.

And it's happened ha ha

A Wednesdayite is on the phone calling the show now talking about Wednesday but

The first thing he said was "I heard you talking earlier and I was disappointed that Goughy prefers Sheffield United to Wednesday especially when we had Barnsley legend Hirsty playing for us"

Goughy replied that he likes Hirsty and he was his neighbour but he said as a Barnsley fan he's not going to vote for Sheffield Wednesday.

We were a shambles for ten years but Wilder's given us our club back. I remember now why I started supporting the Blades.

I fucking can. I would have spent the rest of my life in the broom cupboard if I'd supported the pigs!

Yeah, I meant apart from the fact the alternative wasn't an alternative but that should go without saying.

Think I'd have been happier if he'd chosen them tbh.

I've met Vaughan at the Ranmoor Inn a few years back and to be fair he came across as a really decent fella, its just a shame he supports the pigs but as pig fans go I like him. When it annoys me re the neutral support is when you see that the Jackson's are from Parsons Cross and support the pigs since they won the League cup in 91 and apparently Chritiano Ronaldo has a season ticket at the Sty! ;) Whenever Leeds show an occasional flirt with the premier league the media does the same as they do with the pigs and say things like "we all want Leeds back to where they belong don't we"!? They have no idea how detested Leeds really are, not just in Yorkshire, but throughout the country!

At Leeds do have something to boast about though, the pigs history doesn't justify their arrogance but that's the identity of your average pig fan.

Even if Vaughan wasn't a Pig, any residue of goodwill he might have accumulated from being a not bad cricketer is being dissipated by his all-out assault on the English language on TMS and Channel 5. No Michael, it isn't a 'real good' performance, its a 'really good' performance you lazy pseudo-American twat.

Like all pigs, he doesn't talk, he whines.

Forest. Second biggest set of wankers after the Pork.

Bladepicker doesnt surprise me Forest prefer wednesday. as we've beaten them twice of the best games ive witnessed at bramall lane in last 15 yrs

as i wouldve had a grudge if id been on the other end of the 4-3 play off semi & 3-1 fa cup 5th rd. :D

.... and his offensive attack on Joe Root after one poor England performance under his leadership.

Tosser of the first order.

Sorry Joe, couldn't agree with that. He was spot on in my view. We were awful and the attack was on the team not Root. Root has to protect the players but the England cricket team have consistently struggled to adapt to the conditions of a game and collapse like a pack of cards all too regularly. Vaughan was simply saying that the batters didn't change their style, they were still coming out with a poor shot selection, when we needed a more conservative approach - see quote below. Boycott was saying the same, as you'd expect but I think Vaughan has earned a right to express his opinion. Cricket wise, I couldn't care what team he supports.

‘They look like they are playing a Twenty20 game. I look at the approach – yes, the ball has done a little bit but it’s not been drastic.

I've no problem with his criticism of the performance in general but to accuse Joe Root of being " disrespectful to test match cricket " is untrue, unkind and totally unnecessary.

He didn't mate. He accused the team of that, not directly Root.

"The England batting has been appalling,’ Vaughan said on BBC’s Test Match Special. ‘Maybe it’s a lack of respect about what the game is"

Vaughan is a close friend of Root as you probably know and Nasser Hussain was also critical. I don't know anyone who would not criticise the performance that day. Just my take on it but I heard Boycs say the same stuff on the radio but he seems to be beyond criticism because presumably he's not a pig fan?

It really has been a wank preseason for them hasn't it?

  • Rhodes looking overpaid and shite
  • One notable signing who is on the down in terms of his career, demanding a final pay day
  • Inconsistent preseason form
  • Losing to a lacklustre SPL side at home, who are not what they once were
  • Those god awful kits
  • And now even the minor celebrities don't like them :D
And all this for their 150th anniversary. They must be feeling shit going into the new season.

It's funny but the truth is, it doesn't mean shit. It's just pre-season. It's never meant owt and never will.

If that's the case, he was misquoted in a well known newspaper and I shall just have to carry on considering a tosser on the basis of his childish anti Blades tweets.

I don't follow what he says on twitter to be fair mate. I've heard him say a few things about us over the years which sounded like banter to me from memory but its just my view on Vaughan and its' probably different to most on here.

Just seen the pigs new home shirt. Its got no stripes again so I would imagine the pigs won't be happy! However they've ditched Sondico and gone with a proper brand name now - the well known Elev8!
