Aye I was there. People were supping Heineken bokkles today as opposed to the Carling ones we had last year.

It irks me that English people can't be trusted to take beer into the stands. It'd solve so many problems!
It's because a lot of English football fans are idiots. If we were allowed to take beer into the stands then we'd all be wearing it as it'd just get launched at the first opportunity.

But that's what happens in the countries where it is allowed. Seen it at Ajax, seen it at Hertha Berlin.

If you sit on certain stands, it might not be a given that it'll happen, but it's a likelihood. If we had beer on the Kop it'd probably get lobbed around freely after a goal, but I couldn't see the same happening too often on the family/SS/Bramall Lane end.

If a true Yorkshireman has a pint in hand that he's paid £4 for, he'll protect it with his life :D I fucking would, anyway.

Fair dos, never seen it in Europe myself as I've never been.

I do admit it is strange how football fans aren't allowed a pint in the stands yet if you go to any other sporting event - rugby, ice hockey, golf, motor racing, horse racing, tennis, pretty much everything other than football, then you can have a beer.

Perhaps each seat could be fitted with a hose and pint sized reservoir (like a camel back)which fills up when you scan your phone payment (apple or android pay etc) and you drink to your hearts content from the hose

My mate wore a 'beer belly' once, it was great until it leaked all over his trousers... at least thats what he told us.

I always thought Baldwin's paid more. I spent 2 years at Michel's wine bar washing the pots with the odd bit on the side at Hallam Towers hotel. Learnt to keep me gob shut and get on with my job ( except the obvious Lech at the barmaids and waitresses. Way too old but obviously an early MILF incarnation)..

Not back in 93-94 he didnt, think it was just before min wage came in and it didnt apply to people under 16 anyway. Proper child slave labour although the free feed you got was always good

About time that the club sorted this. Most of staff are incompetent, they have next to no training. When it gets busy, they really struggle. They can only do 1 thing at a time, because they are thick as shit. Why have clueless teenagers serving ? Plenty of students want work and have bar experience. Beer Sales are lost due to fans just giving up. Sort your shit blades, weve put up with this long enough ! Infact, get cw on the case, he gets everything else sorted quickly !

Who teaches them? My observation of the modern world (albeit biased in a west London kind of way) is that people have no practical skills anymore. I don't mean tradespeople, they have to have, but just ordinary people. When I grew up it you were supposed to be able to change plugs, fuses etc, do minor repairs to your car or bike, put shelves up. Just doing those things makes you more practical so when faced with a task, you could work out the best way to do it.

Young people I meet these days have no understanding of anything. As I say, I do tend to meet a lot of posh boys so maybe my view is skewed but, from reading the comments on here, it seems like the staff just stand there waiting for someone to tell them what to do.

I got a letter yesterday from my insurance claim handlers. It was dated 29 June but the postmark was 24 July. It told me I had seven days to reply. So I called the claim handler and got his out of office saying he was on leave and to contact his colleague. I called his colleague and refused to discuss the claim with him, just insisted their manager called me. Within fifteen minutes my claim handler called me back. It was clear he had no idea how unprofessional he was and tried to blame 'the computer'.

We're not helping the next generation if we don't hold them to account for their falling standards or teach them how to do things properly.

Are we going to get a pump that actually pours beer in the upper Westfield this season or just bottles ,the choice you get in the family stand compared to the rest of the ground is astonishing ,just a little parity would be nice.
