I've got no chance then
Say we got promoted season before last and they were still at their respective clubs, Bury, Chesterfield and Pigs.If .... they weren't already United players would Lavery, Clarke or Ched have been included in the list of prospects?
Sometimes the grass looks greener ....
There you go Blade Too Ludicrous, a link to his 2015/16 goals - that's within the last 2 seasons. http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=45922&season_id=145
Last season he didn't play much.
Say we got promoted season before last and they were still at their respective clubs, Bury, Chesterfield and Pigs.
I wouldn't even entertain Clarke or Ched as new signings for a newly promoted championship side no.
Lavery possibly, but he wouldn't be my first choice.
Genuine question - in the last 5 years how many strikers have actually scored 30+ in a season?
Actually, here's the list of all those scoring 30 plus in a season since 2011/12 across all 4 divisions:
PL:
Suarez - 13/14
Championship:
Glenn Murray - 12/13
League One:
Sharp - 16/17
Jordan Rhodes - 11/12
League Two:
Tom Pope - 12/13
A sum total of 5 players.
Ched 6 years ago.ALL 3 have played in the championship, so would be options as much as any player you care to mention, and CW chose them once , would argue hed look at them again which is the only choice Id care to believe in

They shouldn't be out of our price range though, I'm not talking splashing £15mil on an Assombalonga - what about a Daryl Murphy who's available for loan from Newcastle? But the situation is that Lavery and Clarke played for a team that stormed the first division and accrued 100 points.
Yes, they didn't play many games and Ched was with relegated Chesterfield, but lets play the 'what if game' , like how we are doing with all the above prospects. After all 'proven' strikers are way out of our range?
Ched 6 years ago.
Clarke 3 years ago.
Lavery 3 years ago.
Hardly with sparkling records.
But he didn't do anything in the championship before?well ched didnt ask for the 6 year break, it was foisted on him in error
think of 5 or 600 players thats had similar to 3 year breaks from the championship
saints players forest players leeds players millwall players charlton players and even some of those we are still after havent played in the championship, but are good enough

He's played championship football for the past 8 years, and been very impressive.I am not sure why you feel a 34 year old - apparently on £25,000 wk - is a better option than what we have?
he scored more championship goals than blackman averagedBut he didn't do anything in the championship before?
Literally got no idea what that last line means so I'm not gonna pretend I do.
but Brighton think hes peaked and inadequate for the premHe's played championship football for the past 8 years, and been very impressive.
There's a reason Newcastle signed him.
If you don't think Daryl Murphy is better than what we have it really is pointless carrying this conversation on.

Who Daryl Murphy? For Newcastle?but Brighton think hes peaked and inadequate for the prem
its all about opinion
his attitude stunk when he engineered his transfer out , wouldnt want him back , doesnt fit our ethos

thought you was on about murphy ex us whos been listedWho Daryl Murphy? For Newcastle?
Yeah mate, I was gutted when we sold the big powerful Irish targetman that we've never had.
He is much better than we've got, yes he is.He had a calf injury most of the season ... so 34 yr old recovering from injury on £25,000 wk is a better option than what we've got?
Seriously fella we're not on the same page.
he scored more championship goals than blackman averaged
What do you mean?
in hard figures
ched has scored 23 in 98 championship games in his career 1 in 4 near enough
and one prem goal in 3
blackman has scored 18 in 97 1 in 5
speaks for itself
Blackman has scored 20 Championsip goals.
used wikis figures , but if its 20 its still less, is it not
arguing over one or 2 career goal shows how weak the argument was
