My understanding is that Leonard is more of a defensive midfielder, good tackler with a great box to box workrate
Where as Brooks is more of a creative flair offensive midfielder, so they are very different players.

Last season our midfield was too good for that division. We were allowed to get its own way playing an open offensive game.
I suspect Wilder is a concerned about the poor defensive qualities of Coutts, Duffy, Carruthers and probably Brooks too.

So he wants an upgraded Basham type midfielder, someone the right age on the way up, who can protect the defence but is mobile enough to also get forward and is decent in possession. We wanted to buy Sam Morsey last year to play this role but we were all surprised that Basham upped his game and played the defensive midfielder role really well but I suspect we can do better.

Probably so, just saying Nationals are no different to Chairmen. They all spin

But ask yourself, Your chairman speaks to Leonard in the morning and says Leonard has withdrawn his T/R

Brown speaks after the friendly and says Leonard has put in a transfer request. He doesn't say he's withdrawn it. Why?

I don't know what the hell is going on and frankly it's all getting very boring, but Wilder has not said this saga is over yet

Leonard and Lenihan surely. Especially as he has stated we want another CH & CM.

Bit bitchy Roots? Maybe the logic of what's about to happen is getting too much? Seems the National paper you don't have time for must have picked up this story from somewhere, doncha think?
