I think he's pretty confident he will get Lenihann and Leonard in, didn't specify names but did say confident in current targets, given these are the two most well known targets I reckon it could be these two.

Although knowing Wilder it will be two no one predicted or expected.

Couldn't RS find a photo that didn't make him look like Albert Steptoe?
No need for that! ;)

I think you're possibly right. Lenihan and Leonard first - and then we'll move onto the letter "M" next maybe?

As expected.

GK, CB, CM, AM and possibly a striker.

Maybe just one player (Lenihan?) to cover both CB/CM.

Plenty left to be done either way. Going to be interesting.

No Leonard in Southend's matchday squad this afternoon. So here's hoping that has progressed significantly overnight.

Interesting they he is interested in another two up top, assuming one is a striker one of ours must be on the way out, pretty sure McCabe said if he wanted another striker we'd need to get rid of one, if we do I'd guess it would be Hanson

Only real disappointment yesterday was Lavery made no impact second half, Neither did Hanson but that was expected.

We may need another powerful option upfront, I think it would be a gamble to rely solely on Clarke as he's injury prone and not really done much at Championship level in the past.

Chris mentions we got more money for Jamie Murphy, presumably cos they got promoted and it was a clause in the deal, anyone know if its a decent sum.

Purely a guess but I can't imagine it being anything groundbreaking. Maybe £100k or so?

Ched, watching his brief 'cameo' last night

Well, I think we need:

A keeper (reserve - presumably will be a loan)
A CB (I'm not convinced that Wright will be able to step up. I'd also like someone with a bit of pace)
A CM (We only really have Fleck, Coutts & Carruthers who can play in the centre. Basham can obviously step in but then that leaves us thin at the back. We need someone who can cover for Fleck and play next to him when we're looking to hold a lead)
Two Strikers (I'm not convinced by our options. Billy is the only one who will definitely start, and he'll not be a world beater at this level. Hanson isn't good enough. Lavery shows in spells but all too inconsistent. Could step-up, but I doubt he'll be a regular starter this season. Ched may or may not get his form back but seems to have been carrying knocks for the last 6 months. Clarke has never done it at this level. I'm not convinced the pairing of Sharp and Clarke will offer enough at this level. I'd like to see a tall powerhouse of a striker who is also fairly skillful. We need a striker who can create their own chances as well as assist Billy.

For me, that's the bare minimum. I'm not convinced at either Duffy or Brooks as a regular over 90 minutes. We probably need someone in that position as well. Carruthers can potentially play there as well, but it leave us a bit thin.

We also need to get players out (Done, Hanson, Wilson)

We were quite fortunate with injuries last season. Hopefully will be again, but with the loan system changes we need to try and balance having a big enough squad with keeping everyone happy.

Didn't Clarke say he'd scored 87 Championship goals?

Seem to remember seeing somewhere that it was about £500k. But don't take my word for it.

Purely a guess but I can't imagine it being anything groundbreaking. Maybe £100k or so?

Whilst it won't be ground breaking for Man City, Barcelona, Wolves, Villa or Wednesday, 100k could probably go a long way towards one of the 4-5 players

I don't want a new keeper, I like the idea of Moore and giving a new youngster (Eastwood) first team experience

There's a few on here who watch the U18 and U23 regularly. On a recent thread they said he wasn't ready.

Not seem him play admittedly. But it seems like a massive gamble if Moore gets injured.

Of all the positions on the pitch not to gamble with ... keeper is the one . Never forget Lee Baxter!
