Can't help but feel the Germans have beat us to the punch on this one.

One very interesting point from Allianz arena tour was use of Season tickets as a cashless system for drinks at half time. Can't help but feel this would encourage people to spend more at half time and ease congestion has something like this been considered?

It's been considered and threatened multiple times, think the obstacle would have been till hardware and how this is managed with the catering being Compass rather than in house.

We did the Allianz tour in 2010, enjoyed it :)

Did Allianz tour in 2015, excellent, far better than Nou Camp tour I did some years previous.
Typical German efficiency ☺

FC Bayern snuff...certainly not to be sneezed at!

Here all week, folks ;).

I keep meaning to send an email to the club about catering.

It's pretty incredible that it takes so long to deal with such a small number of customers.
Surely in this day and age there should be a better system to serve people quicker?

They had some chump walking about selling ales a few year ago why can't they do that ?

KM actually referenced how poor it was himself in an interview a few weeks back.

Did the tour and watched a game there in 2015. I too was impressed with the card system

Said it before and will say it again, we should boycott the catering at the Lane. The club must be aware of the situation, they've been told often enough and seem unwilling to do anything about it.. As you say, in this day and age there's no excuse for dishing up the overpriced fucking slop they do with equally appalling service.

A matter of life and death then, Snoots.......:)

The crush under South Stand when full is atrocious - a stand designed for the 70's.

There is obviously nothing that can be done unless another tier goes on the top and the available room is extended.

Some of these modern stadia might look crap - but they are certainly designed with PEOPLE in mind.

Atletico Madrid have launched their own beer. Surprised a city such as ours hasn't done something similar. I know new Spurs stadium will have a microbrewery, something that we should consider?

Surely if the owners see that there are failings then the wheels can and should be put in motion to make changes.

A contract can be re-negotiated or an additional scope of work be added. It's a poor excuse to hold our hands up and suggest that the contract doesn't allow it or it's the responsibility of compass.

We made a decent step to go to season cards a few years back but we've not built on this to make supporter experience easier and better not to mention adding revenue to the commercial side

I only buy anything if I'm desperate (gone to game straight from work and not eaten for hours on end etc) and the quality v price is scandalous. It amazes me how much smaller clubs can knock out better food and drink for notably cheaper prices.

Catering at the Lane has been shocking for years and is the primary factor why I rarely buy stuff. Although Compass pay us whatever for the contract, surely they have to meet some kind of standard. It's got to be in our interests to keep customers happy, I just can't see how we're happy to take the money and then don't care how crap it is.

That said despite talk I've yet to see much worthwhile action in response to endless feedback.

Our catering offering and execution is an utter abomination on every level from product to management to dispense to staff. All utterly not fit for purpose. It's like the club have conciously decided" Let the pleb cunts piss against a brick wall and fuck em if they want to buy anything inside the ground." They need to have a serious rethink and plan for stadiun catering. Fuck Compass off and do it in house. Said it before and heard some utter bullshit reasons why it cant be done. Course it can.It is a complete embarressment on an otherwise increasingly well run club.

The kop facilities at the top end of shoreham Street ( toilets/food and drink feels like something from the 50's, the odd thing is I am so used to it I never give it a second thought until this thread, its non league standard.

Suggested it maybe last year, but got shot down in flames by the "overpriced real ale bores are twats" faction.

If Chansiri can hire in a sweat shop to make his nylon piggy shirts, I'm sure t'blades can brew some ale. I mean Kev lives in Belgium, work of a moment to persuade a Belgian Brewery to drop off a few crates of 9%.

The cards in Germany work great but given over here we're already using normal bank cards in the exact same way then I don't see the point of doing anything with our season cards even though a large percentage of our fans have one as opposed to just upgrading the tills to take bank cards (if they don't already).

Would be an interesting idea if we were to be able to use the season card though, plenty of opportunities to run promotions using them (top up £x, get 10% added loaded on them? Renew in first ST wave and get a free pie?)

fair point contactless cards cover up to £30 don't they which has got to account for 95%+ of transactions.

Paying for the thing isnt the major issue. Its the fuckwitted organisation and frontal lobed servers need sorting first.

" Let the pleb cunts piss against a brick wall and fuck em if they want to buy anything inside the ground."

This is exactly the thing that pisses me off. I'm sure the club has management meetings and I'm equally sure that catering is on the agenda. It's as if someone raises the issue and relates the feedback as to how crap it is, then someone says out "fuck 'em, this lot will eat owt". I hate being taken for a ride and being the subject of condescension. Sort it out SUFC, this thread is making it clear you're missing out on easy revenue, not to mention the goodwill.

True, if you have to Q 30 mins for a pie/pint in L1 what's it going to be like next season? I really hope the club have thought this through, there are bundles of ££££££ wasted if not.

The club have been told at various forums down the years about the atrocious products and service and tend to fob folk off with the age old "it's not our fault" excuse.

My Uncle once went into detail about the old bar that used to open under the John Street Stand (Tunnel Bar?) that after kick off him and his mates used to go there but got fed up as they never had a float ready so couldn't serve or beer was waiting to be changed - him and his gang of mates therefore went elsewhere to spend their brass.

If the club can't even do basics like have beer ready at 445 when match finishes or a float then their incompetence at running this side of things is unbelievable.

There are times when we are our own worst enemy . A couple of seasons back they trialed a system whereby you bought a ticket for a pint before the game kicked off . At half time you then went to a section at the bar specifically set aside for those who had the ticket . No fuckers used it and just joined the queue to pay whilst whinging about the fact that the service was shit .

Just saying like

And if everyone used it the one kiosk would have the same problem. Truth is there is not enough supply for customer demand, big problem that needs solving.

Not everyone were ever going to use it but if just half did we'd have seen a significant increase in customer turnover .

You are correct in one respect though , demand simply overwhelms supply on a regular basis . I just feel that as fans we need to try and help ourselves more when something's being trialed .

I can only imagine Compass make enough as it is .....................

Why try harder when you make enough

This doesn't address the quality of the shit on offer. Those microwaved sausage rolls look (and probably taste) like a limp dick. They make Greggs look like haute cuisine.

I and my mate used it. Or even me and my mate used it. But when we got there we couldn't believe how many folk were thinking we were pushing in. Either it wasn't publicised properly or the majority just couldn't be arsed.
