sky news report says "Sheffield United have signed Fulham defender Richard Stearman on a three-year deal for a "substantial" undisclosed fee."now sky dont put substantial for under a million or more

All relative

£1m is substantial for Sheffield Utd

£1m is peanuts for Boro, Derby, Villa, Pigs etc

no I dont think we paid that but conversely I dont think we paid 250k which is bordering on moronic

If you don't think we paid £2.5m, I've no idea why you stated it in the 1st place o_O

You're right that £250k is equally moronic.

Good luck to him, hope he finds some form and either comes back stronger or gets a permanent deal because of an improvement.
Can't see him ever being better than what we've got. Our next LB needs to be a step up from Lafferty and Stevens. For me, the best case scenario is that he does well enough to attract a move for a small fee.

That's amazing – it's almost as though they've read the official sufc press release and just regurgitated it.

The Jack O'Connell deal was described by local press last summer as "a subtanstial fee". I imagine both are substantial compared to the money we've spent compared to spending in previous L1 seasons. I suspect this is the lower end of the Championship transfer market mind. "Not unsubstantial" might be the better description – I doubt any clubs will be raising their eyebrows in awe at the signing. Which is fine, as I trust Wilder's judgment in spending his budget wisely, suspect we've picked up a bargain, and am happy to see how this moneyball-esque approach plays out. But that's the market we're dealing in, irrespective of the sugar-coating.

Sky don't know the fee! They have just quoted the SUFC press release ffs!

If they knew the fee they would report it, not keep it a secret and make a judgement on what is a substantial fee for United.

Jesus Christ! Can't believe I've needed to point that out!

Swindon Town, season-long loan.

Getting back to the actual Hussey element of this...

Looking at the club press release, has to be the blandest appraisal of a player we've said goodbye to that I've read for a while.

Wilder could have been only marginally less brutal with a statement of "Chris will always go down in my memory as someone I bought, managed, and only very occasionally played. We wish him all the best."

Anyone see the goal from yesterday?, great strike, looks like he is getting his confidence back, if I can upload it on here I will
