I was talking to an ex Blades for Billy's time and he said Billy was known to partake in a bit of Barenuckle fighting to sumplement is wages.

It was Gordon Armstrong. It was John Gannon who clashed with Kevin Ball twice (one was when he was elbowed when Pompey came to Lane in October 1989 and the sending off incident at Roker Park in March 1991)

Ahh yes
Memory not as good as it used to be

All I remember is practically relegating Sunderland and Glyn Hodges nutting one of their players

Walking a mile back to the car after the game wasn't the friendliest situation I've ever been in

Vinnie Jones' publicity exceeded the reality, he was powder puff for us, wasn't he?
Of those not mentioned I'd add Speight, Hockey and Chris Short, the latter being the bravest and daftest lad I have ever seen in the tackle, weight for weight, totally committed and far too honest with it.

After the obvious Vinny Jones & Joe Bolton, (only cos he looked like Rambo) there was Charlie Hartfield. Michael Brown was a dirty fucker when he wanted..Ray McHale, Tony Kenworthy and John Mcphail among others

Vinny Jones?

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hard to see beyond Whitehurst

However, Akinbiyi deserves a shout. Danny Mills once said he was the scariest guy he ever played with or against. Very intimidating and could back it up.

And despite the nice guy joker routine Kamara could seriously look after himself, apparently

Not the hardest but TC always looked after Woody.

Never had a problem stepping in.

Bradders in the top five.

Hartfield No 4?

Woodhouse had the balls to fight for a living.

Went to a utd do at a pub on west st.."soz had a few n cant remember which one"..anyway the 2 players taking questions were tony agana and glynn hodges..we'd hav them 2 back eh blades!..glynn was telling us first time he went out for a beer with the lads n they down moorfoot tavern "i think"..some wendy fans spotted em n started giving the verbals so Big bad billy took there biggest lad outside n sorted him out..hodgy said "i cudnt believe it"...still makes me smile that story. Think that sorts the who's the hardest anyway. COYRAWW.

It was in Henrys. Some Wendies spotted Vinnie Jones sponsored car outside and went in giving it the big one. Didn't get past Tightshirt!
