Off to Chezzy on loan
He will end up in league 2 anyway, just a matter of time
I hope we recall him on Monday just for the lolz.
I have never rated Louis Reed but #GoodLuckToTheLad.
It will be make or break for Reed and I can't decide how I think he'll get on. He'll fit in well with Caldwell's preferred style of play but may struggle in such a physical league. I don't know if Chessie have such a player but I'd imagine the best chance of him flourishing would be to put him with a midfield enforcer, who do a lot of the dirty work and allow Reed to get on the ball.
that would be funny and following up with, "But we will let you have player X on loan instead", then recalling them as well, maybe Chris does not like Caldwell?
That's the issue though.
2 years ago he was hot property down at the Academy with Di Gerolarmo.
Some Blades predicted they both had massive futures and both would be worth many millions in a few years.
There were rumours that other clubs were sniffing round and some predicted we'd sell off the Crown Jewels again
And let him go for £1 or £2 million.
We showed ambition by giving Reed and especially Che Adams a big pay rise.
Apparently Che Adams was going to be a future England international and we should demand £5 to £10 million for him.
My point is that the vast majority of promising youngsters don't amount to what their potential promises.
We could have just sold Maguire for £17m and walker for £40m.
In today's market there is no upside for letting players go cheap - there is so much money floating around. it's not 1999 anymore and £1m is pocket change to plenty of championship sides and literally nothing to any premier league side
Daftest thing I've read today (and I read my own posts).
They are only worth those sums because they have proven themselves in the Prem. Suppose we'd not sold Walker in 2010 and he'd stayed here and not had his head turned. After 250 games in L1 and 6 POTS awards, are you saying there would be a queue of clubs offering us £40m for a L1 player?
I agree it is peanuts to them, but to a club losing £5-6m every season a £1m is a lot of money. Once you stop losing money (or get owners so wealthy that it doesn't matter), then you can turn bids down. Until then you have to doff your cap to the big boys and say thank you very much.

That's not what I meant - if we had kept hold of them. I'm convinced a squad with the likes of walker, naughton, Lowton, Harry in it would be in the premier league. Then we would have got far more money for them than selling 10 players at a million a pop.
I'm not stupid - I know being in league 1 means we didn't have options and can't hard ball sides. I can see why the likes of ramsdale and dcl were sold because it allowed us to pay the bill and sign Moore etc.
But in general if we'd have kept hold of these players I'd argue they would be worth more money by far now.
What could Everton get for dcl or Birmingham for Adams?
Reed has had 3 seasons with England in amongst a strong batch of players. Obviously he couldnt maintain that without first team football. It was a big achievement for a L1 yougster. Quality player victim of circumstances at Bramall Lane. Player of the Season if he goes to Chesterfield.
I'm wishin' on a star...to follow where you are...
Or maybe 'wallowing in mud glorious mud' slinging at any young hopeful from S2.
Not at all. No-one loves to see talented players playing for United more than I. That's why I have no time for useless ragamuffins like Doyle and Montgomery. If the talented players happen to be young hopefuls - fine; if they're experienced campaigners like Jake Wright and Billy Sharp, also fine.
In what way was Little Louis a 'victim of circumstance? Not big enough? Not strong enough? Not good enough? Simply plenty of better players ahead of him for selection?
Many thousands of victims of circumstances have gone before him. The remedy is Division Four or the Conference. That's where he's going. Life's hard; so is professional football. It's about United, not Louis Reed.
