I'd probably take 11th at the end of the season to be fair.

From wilders record, think he will get us used to the league without pulling up any trees and then make the adjustments required for a proper assault on the table.

That said there is plenty to be said for team spirit and a definite style of play. With a bit of ambition - who knows?

i said id be chuffed with 14th staying clear of relegation, 3 or 4 points off dark side & a cup run

& just have to look in last 7 yrs. half of all newly promoted teams have finished in bottom half & only 1 team in last 5 years made top 6
10/11 2nd 7th 9th
11/12 2nd 10th 18th
12/13 9th 18th 19th
13/14 10th 22nd 24th
14/15 5th 7th 21st
15/16 11th 18th 23rd
16/17 14th 20th 23rd

Come on really !!!

I would say there are way too many variables to be able to predict how individual teams will perform over a season, we don't even know what the team will be yet.....

I prefer being the 3rd team to finish 2nd in the last 8 years!!!!!!!!!

because under gary rowett they were 5th & playing very well. then for some reason they sacked him. appointed Zola with aim to not be playing championship football next season & he very nearly succeded. so quality proven. under redknapp its possible he will get results

Rowett did well, no doubt about it. Would he have sustained it over a season? Who knows. Their squad is still severely lacking for a promotion push; it would need a complete overhaul. Redknapp is the sort of manager who spends every penny he's given (and some) without getting very much value for money. Personally, I can see Birmingham spending big but floundering in mid table this season.

Think Leicester and start praying!!!!

Middlesboro and Sunderland scrapping it out.
I think Sunderland will struggle to start and then have too much to make up. Playoffs maybe but I can't see autos. Big budget though, but also big expectations.
