Getting giddy with it!

A date as rare as rocking horse shit to play on, and a personal milestone. You watch bloody Sky bring it forward to Friday.

I'm expecting Sky to make a bollocks of several of our fixtures in typical fashion. There won't be that many Saturday 3pm's for a start.

But pleeeeease not Villa away.

At least there is one London weekend fixture at Millwall, don't expect there to be clamour for tickets just as there wasn't last year.

Millwall away is generally not a bad day out these days if travelling by coach. Bit of drinking time in Greenwich then the bus parks bang outside the away end. Usually in and out without any fuss.

Provisionally yes. But don't underestimate Skys capacity for fixture-related wankery.

Didn't sky have fixtures on every day in the lead up to Christmas last year? Seem to remember matches being played on the Thursday and Friday before Christmas

I declare September and December as the best months.

It certainly seemed that way. It's bang out of order in my opinion. Their job should be to televise what's being played, not to dictate when they are played.

The New Den on the train is an absolute walk in the park compared to visits to the Old Den.

Agreed, the walk from New Cross/New Cross Gate was always a bit of a challenge. Head down and blend in.
Having said that I always liked the old Den.

Brentford for me. Stop in Ealing and bus it down to Kew Green for a few pre match beers then back to Ealing for more beer and a ruby, sorted.

Every game will be tough next season

No they won't. Some games will be easy. We just don't know which ones until we've played them.

Like all the other clubs, we'll play the rest home and away. After 46 games we'll all finish where we deserve. Nobody who has any experience of the unpredictable creature that is football will glibly talk of easy or difficult matches. It doesn't work like that. Ask 'easy' Southend or 'tough' Bradford.

They'll be uneventful and boring. Sky will then change any mouthwatering games to stupid k.o times.

We'll play pigs in Oct away and home in late Feb.

1st game at home to Burton. Any good London away day will be midweek.

Bah humbug
Got the London midweek one right rusty.

Thanks Aristotle.

You missed out the bit about it being 'a marathon not a sprint' and also how we need to 'take each game as it comes', but other than that I'd give you 9/10 for stating the obvious.

It could have been 10/10, if only you'd managed a dig at the legions of S2 hoofers.

Yet the forum experts will tell us it's either a difficult or easy start and analyse each month against a 'difficulty' threshold. They haven't a fucking clue.

That's a weekend job for me. I've always enjoyed going down there over the years but it did used to get a bit awkward when walking from new cross gate!!. Glad it's all changed now though!!.

The fixtures are all easy. Each club is told where and when they are playing, and even given the additional information of who they will be playing too. All they have to do is turn up and play the game. That's a piece of piss. Actually getting the result you wanted, that's the tricky part. Fixtures are easy. Successful results are the hard part. Fortunately we have a management team that has a track record of getting them.

It's extremely rare in football that any game is easy. Even teams that win 3-0, 4-0 come off shattered and covered in sweat. It looks easy to you because you're not the one running around.

Those results come from good performances, not from playing easy opposition.

Pretty happy with these. Every away game I was targeting except for Derby is currently scheduled for a weekend, seems to be a minimum of home midweek fixtures, Boxing Day at home is an arse but I'll see what I can do.

Not sure how they move Pigs away to Sunday with us playing the Tuesday as well - Saturday lunchtime TV slot?

By that yardstick, even a 6-0 is not easy? I thought we were talking results, which is invariably what is meant when people speak of an easy victory. Anyway, not all that important is it? Let's leave it there.
