Getting giddy with it!

The date is not the exciting bit for me, it's the fact that we have all these great games to look forward to and re-establish ourselves at a good level of professional football. Having said that, I'm always interested especially in whether we start or end the season at home or away - and who we play on Boxing Day - (I prefer away games on Boxing Day as it is an excuse to get away from the in-laws for a day).

The main fixture though for us all is the Sheffield derby dates. Now that will be interesting and I hope we play them at their place first so we can give them a good doing over on their own turf and shut their great festering gobs early on in the season.

They're released at 9am. I've got my phone on alert to tell me!!. I'll then spend the rest of the day organising travel to the games!. Please no Boxing Day derbies as a certain game ruined my Christmas as a kid!. My parents didn't see the funny side when I pulled the tree down and ripped the cards!!!. Utb

What dates are the first weekend of fixtures? I reckon I'm on holiday. Praying for Burton away

Right, night shift done, an hour's sleep had, now for tea n toast in front of sky sports with my 1yr old.
Unfortunately the lads going to have to walk to school today, as dad's landrover isn't working today;).!
Soon be afternoon nap time:D

I'm hoping for Norwich at home first game. Why? Good chance of us winning and they'll bring 5k and the crowd will be 30k+. Play them later in the season and they'll have done their usual slump and will bring about 500.

I've got a vision of many posters sat hunched over their keyboards, waiting for the fixtures to be released.

Can they possibly be the one? Will it be their season? Will they be the first to post a link to the 2017/18 fixtures? Who's your money on?

It's almost as exciting as the fixtures themselves :)

Heard there is a big surprise for us on opening weekend. Weeds, Warnock or Wendy?

It's Brentford at home.

Not bad, but they're a bit unpredictable. Tense, but winnable I'd say.

Brentford home, do me!!

Bloody hard start.

Brentford - H
Middlesbrough - A
Cardiff - A
Barnsley - H
Derby - H
Sunderland - A

Maybe not the worst thing to play Boro and Sunderland early though.

3 wins, 2 draws n 1 loss n it's not a bad start.

Every game will be tough next season. Our start could have been worse than that. No one will look forward to playing us either. Brentford won't fancy that trip first game.

Not scared of anyone under Wilder.

This.

But seeing the fixtures written down, it does drum home how many hard games there are next season...

Definitely reminds me of the feeling after our last promotion.
