Let's not be like Liverpool and hold on too much to the past, instead lets look to the future.
I will remember this season for year's to come, the future will bring whatever it brings.I did nothing of the sort. Just highlighted the fact that we appeared in an unexpected place.

Hadnt realised Alan Ogden played in the pre-season tour at Poland. About 20 years ago there was a BBC North programme featured on his heart transplant. He said he realised that he was "easily tired" during the 1974-75 pre-season training and soon after he was transferred to York where he made 7 1st team appearances. The following summer he moved to Huddersfield but didnt make an 1st team appearances. Sadly, a few years after the heart transplant he passed awayI ran it through the translator:
Coast footballers (like those from Warmia and Masuria) never spoiled their supporters. The pitches have always been lacking in stakes with real emotions. In the absence of such supporters, they were forced (and are?) To play friendly matches. One of them was held on 17 July 1974 at the stadium at ul. Traugutt. The first English league (highest class), one of the oldest teams in the world, Sheffield United (the year of foundation - 1889) arrived in Gdansk. The club from the country of football is always impressive, and Sheffield (today a little forgotten club) has won the title and the championship title (1898) and the Cup of England (1899, 1902, 1915, 1925). In Gdańsk he appeared in the strongest team with England, Tony Currie and Keith Eddy or Allan Woodward. Currie even played in the famous Wembley match.
Lechia (then II-league) came to this game very seriously. The players were on a few days camp in Szczecinek and this match was to debut a new coach of Gdansk - Wojciech Lazarski. So the meeting was going to be very interesting. As usual, however, a small rain falls from a large cloud. Approx. 8 ths. The fans looked at the meeting rather boring, with ambitious Lechist attacks and standing islanders. It ended with the worst of the draws - 0-0.
Lechia: Słabik, Musiał, Hill, Tokarz, Gładysz, Jahn, Głownia (Bestkowski), Radowski, Corinth (Delega), Makowski, Voice.
Sheffield Utd: J. Brown, L. Badger, A. Ogden, C. Franks (T. Hemsley), S. Goulding, M. Speight, A. Woodward, T. Currie, B. Dearden Bradford, T. Field.
For the English team it was one of many pre-season meetings to prepare for football fans and players in Gdańsk. The photo of the Sheffield team with autographs and nice greetings for fans and players "F.C. LECHIA "
The "little forgotten club" part was a bit of a burn mind!
Bassett is the influence making Chris the excellent manager he is. I think we will be cheering for long ball footie come August.A bit less Bassett and Warnock, maybe?
I do agree that we are massive, though, and give no fucks whether that sounds like the Pigs, creatures of no relevance to me.

If Lechia win their final game of the season here in Warsaw against Legia Warszawa they will win the Polish Ekstraclasa league and qualify for the Champions League. They have never previously been league champions in their history.
Update:
Lechia only managed a 0-0 draw at Legia Warszawa today meaning Legia are champions again and Lechia missed out on European football on goal difference.
See SwissBlade - he can mate that up with a Blades ScarfAh bollocks, I bought a Lechia scarf too![]()
