Never heard of him!

Fry is the "king of spin" I would take it with a pinch of salt, we're potless.

Supposedly kicked out of Norwich for poor form. Something to prove, perhaps?

Good age at 27, but I can't say I know a thing about him.

good championship defender one we should definitely sign

Was hoping to see us linked with him, he seems an obvious target. Would be a big signing for us.

Don't think we can compete wage wise with Wolves though.

Know nothing about him.

74 league appearances for Norwich in 5 years. So a bit part player for them?

Championship pedigree though, and we need a centre back or two. Makes sense.

Can't see much in the Wolves link as they have just sacked Lambert

Would definitely be behind signing Bennett

Agree, surely Wolves should wait until they have a manager before they make any signings.

Lambert signed him for Norwich. Hopefully that was the foundation of the link to Wolves.

Wolves are appointing Nuno Espirito Santo, the Portuguese ex Valencia and Porto manager. They'll no doubt be throwing millions at more of Jorge Mendes' favourites.

One of my best mates is a Norwich fan and he says he's not amazing but is will do a decent job for a Championship side, a 7/10 type every week. IO work in Grimsby and I know a few Town fans and they always rated Bennett in his time there. I would definitely be behind this signing.

Must admit I don't know a lot about him. I do recall however that Brighton and Birmingham have also been linked with him after he got released so he must have something about him to be attracting a few suitors.

So could 'do a job' for a Championship side but not Norwich who are a Championship side.

I feel underwhelmed :(

Would seem to be a sensible free transfer in Position we are short in.

Championship and premier league experience could be handy for us.

Again - depending on our budget I think looking a decent free transfers could allow us a make a few more significant outlays later on.

Send him to Hillsborough they like other teams cast offs on fat wages

Fair assessment that.

This would be a good signing. Decent Championship centre half. Still young but with plenty of experience in the top two divisions.

Norwich fans seem to think he's dire on twitter

Many Coventry fans were hardly singing the praises of a certain Lord Fleck.

See how this one pans out, but we've seen what can happen when players who weren't too highly thought of/had something to prove flourished under Wilder and Knill.

Very true

If he comes in I would see it as a really good upgrade on Wilson. We need 2 CBs in my view and I think that the other defender could end up being one of our marquee signings this summer.

If he's a free transfer on the right wages then could be a very good signing as cover/competition who frees up funds for another CB.

But Coventry fans were bitter because he wanted to leave at the end of his contract and come to us. Same isn't true here. If he was half decent the Norwich fans would be having a go at their club for releasing him

Norwich have released him yes but that doesn't mean he isn't a good player. Brentford decided they were happy to accept a bid of around £300,000 for Jack O'Connell! We know that because Wilder said we hadn't bid more than £300,00 for any player. Now how good is O'Connell! He was very highly rated in his days at both Grimsby and Peterborough and earned the move to Norwich. Norwich have released him but he played many times for them and maybe he was their third choice etc, but who's to say that Wilder can't make him into a solid addition like he has done with so many others.

If he signs he'll be our main CB signing.

Well we'll see ... anything regurgitated on Twitter from a 'source' usually smells of an agent trying to cook up interest on Twitter to me.

This guy doesn't sound particularly amazing so until Wilder confirms interest or we sign him... I will firmly hold my breath

I'm saying don't always listen to the opinions of fans of other clubs. I sometimes struggle to listen to the opinions of some of our fans :D

Oxford fans and Jake Wright is probably a better example. Not pulled up any trees, not really their first choice...then look what transpired!

Decent age, good experience in the Championship, former skipper at previous clubs and stand-in skipper at Norwich, has played in a back 4 and back 3. Add in the fact he's free and this feels like a safe signing to strengthen the ranks.

All we can do is give him a go if he signs.

Fan opinion should be taken with a pinch of salt as a new system, manager, motivation can have a huge impact.

would any of us have been bothered or glowing with praise if basham, coutts freeman etc had gone at the end of last year?

We'd have probably said just not good enough for a side pushing for promotion but they proved themselves this year to the extent i'm confident they can all step up to the championship
