I'm saying don't always listen to the opinions of fans of other clubs. I sometimes struggle to listen to the opinions of some of our fans :D

Oxford fans and Jake Wright is probably a better example. Not pulled up any trees, not really their first choice...then look what transpired!

But who elses opinion do we go by?

There's a section on this forum comes on amd immediately creams themselves when ever 'names' like this one get mentioned. Doesn't seem to matter whether the player is decent or not. Do I just listen to them?
 

Norwich fans seem to think he's dire on twitter

I always think central defending is about partnerships rather then individual defenders

I remember Morgans and Killa
Morgan was very commanding, great in the air but a big slow and not so great on the ground.
Whereas Killgallon was weak in the air but very quick and a great tackler on the ground.
Morgan was number 1 defender, attacked everything and Killa picked up the lose bits covering for him. Together they covered each other's weaknesses and formed a formidable partnership.

So I'll wait to see how players fit into the formations and team framework before judging.
He's played a few seasons in the PL so he must be decent.

Go by whoever's opinion you want, lad. I'm just pointing out the fact that fans don't always have it right, and that players who have previously not been very highly thought of can move elsewhere and do well.

Personally, I'll be waiting until the pre-season and the season proper gets rolling to make my mind up on the signings we make.
 
'Ball-playing centre half', according to this (can't say I know that much of him personally). Cost £3.2m when bought by Norrich, but career since blighted by injury.

In saying that, played a decent amount of games last season (37 according to SoccerBase, some seemingly at left back, sometimes as a sub).

Sounds like a possible Wilder/Knill "project".

Can't see anything past this being an astute piece of business by Wilder yet again. There's really no downside.

No fee as he's out of contract and he certainly won't be given a huge wage. So it will be up to him if he feels like taking a wage cut and proving himself... exactly the kind of mentality we want and the kind of player that flourishes under wilder.

A lad who has top two divisions experience and has just fallen out of favour of late, for free? No down side to it and if he rejects the offer we move on for a different CB.

Alfreton, they also may not be bothered about keeping EEL either. I wonder whether he's on Wilders wanted list or whether he went off him towards the end of the season. Difference is EEL would command a fee and Bennett won't.

Do know anything about Bennett but sounds like the right sort of player. However I am also hoping that one of our 'big ' signings will be a center half as the right player with JOC will be a formidable pairing
 
Bennett & Ebanks-Landell. If we were to sign these two do you think our defence would be then good enough to begin next season?
 
Never heard of him but then I don't really follow who's who in football these days like I used to. Anybody out there seen him play?
Doesn't sound as though he's been a regular at Norwich but I'd trust in CW to get us another gem.

You do not have to say anything. But, it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence.
 
The Radio Norwich chap was on RS earlier and this sounds like it has a very good chance of coming off. Essentially the player has 2 choices on the table but Lambert exiting Wolves makes it less likely he will go there now. The one advantage they will have (I suspect) is how much they can offer in wages. Hopefully CW can sweet talk him.

That's right. Our cap-doffers always eulogise over other clubs, their players and fans, whether they turn out to be fantastic, indifferent or shite.

If any player is available, anywhere, anytime, there will be at least one on here saying we must sign him, and if we don't - missed out again! This is regardless of whether our manager has the slightest interest in the player.

Computer games and internet sites, you have a lot to answer for.

As your legal representative I would advise you to enter a guilty plea in the hope of a more lenient sentencing.
 
Fan opinion should be taken with a pinch of salt as a new system, manager, motivation can have a huge impact.

There's a more fundamental reason. The vast majority haven't a clue what they're talking about.

Imagine another club signing (just for example) Kozluk or Montgomery and asking for opinions from our fans? What a shock they'd get when they actually saw the useless fuckers play.

When the Thread Police do eventually turn up and move this then perhaps laddo will only get a lenient thrashing to show him the error of his ways?

Have you ever noticed how they talk as if they've followed said player since youth level and personally go and watch them in person as often as possible and know first hand every single attribute they have.

When you dig down a little you find out that unusually they've never seen them at all and googled them ten minutes earlier

I quite like a good thrashing from time to time. Anyway, I never read the rumour mill, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. As for thread police, they'll never take me alive.
 
Can I save it from the Thread Police by morphing it into a debate over Gordon or Ryan... who's your favourite Bennett?
